as a rookie for the San Francisco 49ers Womens Adrian Colbert Jersey , flashing the ability that made him look like a defensive building block for years to come. After an offseason of legal issues and a two-game suspension to start this season, Foster has been unable to deliver in year two for the 49ers (1-6) and is a contributing factor in the team's defensive struggles.Foster has been missing tackles and struggling to generate big plays for a San Francisco defense that is tied for the fewest takeaways through seven games in NFL history."Reuben is still trying to get back to where he finished last year," coach Kyle Shanahan said. "He's not there yet. I think he's had times where he shows it, but his consistency needs to improve and he knows that, I know that. He did miss his second offseason for things that we all know about, which is on Reuben. Then when he got here, knowing he was going to be suspended those first two games, he didn't get as many reps there toward the end and things like that. I think there is a little bit of rust to him, not that that's an excuse. That's what he needs to do to find a way to get that rust off. We haven't yet, but I expect him to as this year goes."Foster missed more than a month of the offseason program after two arrests that led the 49ers to tell him to stay away from the facility while he dealt with the legal problems. Most of those charges were eventually dropped, with Foster having to complete a first-time offender diversion course on a marijuana charge and being sentenced to two years' probation, 232 hours of community service, and $235 in fines for a weapons charge. But Foster missed practice time and then was suspended for the first two games of this season. He hasn't looked like the impact linebacker he was as a rookie but his coaches remain confident in his ability."He missed the first couple of games of the year and it's not going the way he wants and all that stuff. I do think he's moving in the right direction," defensive coordinator Robert Saleh said. "He did have his best practice of the year yesterday. He's going to be fine. I get it, in this day and age , with everything needs to happen now. But, I promise you, Reuben is going to be just fine when this is all said and done. Second-year player, to push the panic button is way, way premature in my mind."Foster has 10 missed tackles in his five games, according to SportRadar, which is tied for the second-most in the league over that span. He also has failed to record a sack, forced fumble, fumble recovery or interception, and has just three tackles for losses."I'd say average," Foster said when asked to assess his play. "But it can get a lot better. That's what I'm keying in on, to focus and get better."Foster's play has been impacted a bit by a sore shoulder that has bothered him the past three weeks. Foster fell in the draft in part because of concerns about his right shoulder that have proved to be an issue early in his career. He has tried to play through the pain, although it has appeared on video that there are plays where he doesn't have much use of his right arm. Foster said he had an MRI on the shoulder and believes he can keep playing through it and won't need surgery after the season."It's on and off," he said. "I'm just still going to fight through it. It's just a shoulder."NOTES: Richard Sherman said he expects to play this week after missing the last game with a calf injury that he expects will linger all season. ... RB Matt Breida (ankle), DL Solomon Thomas (knee) , C Weston Richburg (knee) and WR Pierre Garcon (shoulder, knee) were among the players who didn't practice.Juice Check: Week 4 vs. LA Chargers Every week we look at how San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan uses his Offensive Weapon, Kyle Juszczyk, as a way to track some of the coach’s offensive complexity.Juice was in a lot against the Los Angeles Chargers, 37 of 60 offensive plays plus his usual role as right wing/personal protector on the punt coverage team, but he played a smaller role than in previous games, where he had the team’s longest reception in two of three contests. Even now, he has the third most receiving yards on the team, just 19 behind Pierre Gar莽on.The versatile fullback was targeted just 3 times on 12 routes, completing two. (The other pass was broken up by very tight coverage.) Coach Shanahan did not call any plays where #44 tried to sneak out long, though he did pick up five in the red zone on a nifty new play.Starting at the Chargers 12, the team faked a sweep right with the fullback naturally lead-blocking. But after a few steps, he made a sharp pivot to reverse direction and was open for a drag route left, picking up five hard-won yards down to the seven. Juszczyk usually sits in the red zone, so it’s great to see the team finding a new tool for their struggling red zone offense. Then in the third quarter Womens Alfred Morris Jersey , C.J. Beathard lofted a moon-ball in Juice’s general direction as he was getting hit, and the blocking back made a nice adjustment to come back inside, jump for the ball and hang on as he was immediately speared in the kidneys by LB Denzel Perryman. He was slow getting up, but gained ten yards and the first down.Juice’s biggest pass, though, was the one that didn’t happen. It’s hard to complain, because the Niners scored a touchdown on the play anyway, but it would have been a lot more sure and less risky if Beathard had seen him. With 3:57 left in the first. Beathard rifled a pass to Kendrick Bourne (in the blue box), just inches from the outstretched hands of three different Chargers. Meanwhile, Juszczyk (red circle) could not have been more open in the left slot. He was literally at least 7 yards from the nearest player, which is hard to do on a play that starts at the two yard line.On the other 25 of his offensive snaps Juszczyk was blocking, and frankly it was not his best game. He had a couple of key blocks in pass protection that gave Beathard enough time to complete long passes, and blocked Melvin Ingram down which is always impressive, but there were at least four plays where he wasn’t able to maintain his block through to the whistle, allowing his target to slip free and assist on a tackle. On one of those plays Womens Marquise Goodwin Jersey , OLB Kyle Emanuel shed him for a QB hit, and got called for roughing the passer. The throw was complete anyway though, and I’d rather the team got fewer yards and kept Beathard’s jersey clean for at least one play.As always, Shanahan used a variety of new and different formations. This week, Juice was mostly an I-formation fullback, or a single back to the left or (usually) right of Beathard, who was almost always in shotgun. Shanny seems to have achieved every coach’s goal, where the formation tells you nothing about what the play will be. Lined up wing or inline, out wide or in the middle of the I-formation, his fullback might end up anywhere on the field, run blocking, pass protecting, or running a route. That’s what makes it interesting to observe, even on a quiet week.

week over week. Each week they’ve met the challenge for the most part. There’s been some obvious lapses in crunch time Quarterback Nick Mullens Jersey , but all in all we see a unit playing together and growing. Versus the likes of Aaron Rodgers, Philip Rivers, and Kirk Cousins the defense stood tall. While the outcome of those games didn’t fall in our favor, there were some positives to take away. This week they face another challenge in rookie running back Saquon Barkley. Regardless of the Giants overall performance, Barkley is having an outstanding season. Currently he’s averaging a respectable 4.7 yards per carry, and 64.9 yards rushing per game behind one of the leagues worst offensive lines. PFF has them ranked 27th. Fred Warner and Malcolm Smith will be the matchup with Barkley in the passing game, where he’s even more dangerous. He’s got 71 targets this season and gaining an average of 8.7 yards a reception ( Fooch also brought a great stat to my attention, Football Outsiders ranks Barkley seventh in the NFL among pass catching backs, while our defense ranks 14th in defending running backs in the passing game. Kyle Shanahan was quoted in his Thursday presser as saying, This will be the key to the 49ers success on Monday night. In watching the tape Barkley makes the first guy miss a lot, it’s like clock work. He’s just got that wiggle that not many runners have. Last week, in my defensive piece Nick Mullens Jersey , I touched on the improvement by the defense when it came to swarming to the ball. They’re going to need to continue to build on that trend. Let’s get into the film. Our first 3 clips come from Week 2 vs. the Dallas Cowboys. The Giants do a good job of creating deliberate swing passes for Barkley, but he’s also often times just a check down and he makes something out of nothing. Watch the first tackler in each clipSwing pass left.Swing pass RightFlat route during the blitz. Robert Saleh will need a solid coverage plan when he brings pressure.Week 5 vs. the Carolina Panthers Barkley had four catches for two touchdowns. Here’s one of those touchdowns from the red zone. The Panthers try a zone blitz concept, something we’ve seen Saleh use. They blitz the linebackers and try to cover Barkley with a defensive end. Barkley is by his man within a few steps, and then jumps into the end zone from about five yards out. It’s important that we get bodies to the ball. While Barkley can consistently move the chains with these check downs and swing passes, when given space and blockers he can turn a simple screen into a big play. Against Philadelphia in Week 6 he went off. Count the broken tackles on this highlight.Jimmie Ward has been great at free safety in my opinion. He will be vital in keeping big plays from happening. Keeping the ball in front of him and taking accurate angles will give the defense a chance to get off the field and limit scoring plays. In our next big play clip, both Eagles safeties are caught sleeping on the play, before they can even open their stride Barkley is gone.In our final clip, Barkley does his best Barry Sanders impression. Again, the 49ers game plan this week should be all defenders to the ball. No loafing, no jogging, no “I thought you had him.” In space Barkley simply will not go down one on one.The 49ers have the personnel to compete. The Giants offense is more talented than their record lets on, but in the words of Bill Parcells Quarterback Nick Mullens Jersey , “You are what your record says you are.” Monday night will be a matchup two teams looking to meet their potential and overcome.Defensively, I’d consider marking Barkley early and force Eli Manning to win throwing the ball down the field. Short zones, and spying Barkley would be an effective plan. We have to trust Sherman to contain OBJ, varying help over the top. The rest of the defense needs to be keyed on Barkley in the flats. Pressure with the front four will have to get home. If we have to start to blitz and bring more bodies, that’s one less tackler, one less cover person in space. We will become susceptible to screens and draws, which is all the Giants want to do. If we can rattle Eli early, he will start to play just like Derek Carr last week, jittery and unconfident. Go Niners!Report: Preliminary diagnoses for Joe Staley, Dante Pettis are NOT an ACL injury Of the many injuries the San Francisco 49ers suffered in Sunday’s game against the San Diego Chargers, one of them is already beginning bring a bit of relief. Per Matt Maiocco, left tackle Joe Staley’s knee injury is looking like it’s not ACL related. Fooch’s update: It also sounds like Dante Pettis avoided an ACL tear Rookie Nick Mullens Jersey , but again, we’ll find out more on Monday. Now, that doesn’t mean it’s not an ACL tear. As Maiocco noted, Staley still needs an MRI, which will confirm the injury (which happens Monday). It does at least show a good sign and the 49ers aren’t fearing the worst. When Jimmy Garoppolo went down last week against the Kansas City Chiefs, the 49ers leaned the opposite direction and feared it was an ACL injury, the MRI later confirmed it. Staley went down in the first half favoring his knee and didn’t return to the game. While he walked off of his own accord, it wasn’t a good sign he wasn’t going back to the field. He wasn’t the only one; the 49ers were decimated further by the injury bug Sunday, losing Dante Pettis, Solomon Thomas, and even Mike McGlinchey for a spell. Staley is one of the most important people on the 49ers offense and a influential voice in the locker room. Losing him would be a severe blow.

The top receiver for the San Francisco 49ers in Week 1 was tight end George Kittle. He finished the day with five catches for 90 yards Quarterback Nick Mullens Jersey , but it’s the passes the he didn't catch that may leave a more lasting impression as what could have been, for both himself and fans. Kittle was targeted nine times and there’s one in particular that he’d like to have back. Jimmy Garoppolo went deep to Kittle to the left side of the field in the third quarter and his outstretched arms were not long enough to get a grip on the ball. Kittle explains:Kittle also missed a high pass from Garoppolo in the back of the end zone. He explained that at 250 pounds, he doesn’t have a 40 inch vertical. He laughed and added that if he was ten pounds lighter, maybe. Through the laughs and joking, which is just Kittle’s personality, he strongly believes in the 49ers offense. He says that while the Vikings defense is good, Garoppolo and Kyle Shanahan make them a good offense as well. While he can’t put a finger on why the red zone challenges linger, he knows they will get better. Is there a lot of potential with this offense?Kittle also explained the mood on the sidelines Nick Mullens Jersey , which was never in question. Kittle also says the offense’s game plan for the week is clear: The Atlanta Falcons lost yet another starter to a season-ending injury Monday.Yet a team with Super Bowl aspirations is hoping that safety Ricardo Allen's torn Achilles tendon won't derail their season."We will not play the role of the victim with injuries, and we've got a locker room full of tough competitive guys, and I expect us to play well," coach Dan Quinn said Monday, a day after Allen injured his leg against the Saints. That's a hard sell before Sunday's game against the Bengals, given how important Allen is to the Falcons' injury-ravaged defense. Allen is the third Falcons defensive starter to go on injured reserve so far this season. The Falcons said they're not feeling sorry for themselves even though starting strong safety Keanu Neal was lost for the season with a knee injury in the first game at Philadelphia. Middle linebacker Deion Jones suffered a foot injury that will keep him out at least eight games. Atlanta also has lost starting left guard Andy Levitre to a season-ending arm injury."This is the life we live," defensive tackle Grady Jarrett said. "You can't sit there and worry over it."Allen, a fourth-year veteran from Purdue Quarterback Nick Mullens Jersey , is respected for his ability to coordinate the defense on the field. He was carted off the field late in Sunday's 43-37 overtime loss to the Saints, and the Falcons (1-2) have little depth at the position heading into Sunday's game against the Bengals (2-1).Second-year pro Damontae Kazee, a cornerback in college at San Diego State, moved into the lineup after Neal was lost. That bumped the 5-foot-9, 186-pound Allen — a cornerback in college — to strong safety, where he was expected to play a lot of run defense.Jordan Richards, a former second-round pick by the Patriots acquired by a trade days before the season, jumped into the strong safety position upon Allen's injury."It's big. Just got to pray for him Rookie Nick Mullens Jersey ," Falcons cornerback Desmond Trufant said. "Big part of the D. Everybody knows what he brings, but other people got to step up."The Falcons have just one other safety on the roster, having signed Keith Tandy a couple of weeks ago. He was inactive for Sunday's game against the Saints.Quinn said that reserve linebacker Kemal Ishmael, a former safety whose primary role has been to play special teams, will be a consideration, and third-year nickel back Brian Poole, will practice at the safety spot.Allen is respected for his overall grasp of the defensive concepts of Quinn and coordinator Marquand Manuel and for his ability to communicate to teammates."That was one of Rico's strengths, just how smart he is Nick Mullens Jersey , his understanding of what's going on before plays happen on their side and our side," Trufant said.Quinn said the Falcons will look to add another safety to the roster, but rebuffed the suggestion that the team might seek to acquire Seahawks safety Earl Thomas or sign free agent Eric Reid, another former Pro Bowler.

Authentic Odell Beckham Jr Jersey , opportunity hasn’t slipped away EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — For three long weeks, Donte Deayon watched New York Giants practices and games from the sidelines, unable to participate due to a hamstring injury suffered early in training camp. The 5-foot-9, 163-pound third-year player had done well enough in spring and early training camp practices to put himself into consideration for the very available spot as the Giants starting slot corner. Then he had to watch as his teammates tried to take the opportunity away. B.W. Webb, Leonard Johnson, William Gay, Grant Haley and others all worked in the slot during Deayon’s absence.“Initially I was disappointed a little bit, like, man, why now,” Deayon said inside the Giants practice bubble on Tuesday afternoon. “I just knew I was going to be back. I thought it was going to be sooner than later, but it’s here now and now I’m ready to make the most of it.”When he was initially injured, coach Pat Shurmur indicated Deayon was “fine” and would only miss a short period of time. That, obviously Color Rush Jon Halapio Jersey , did not turn out to be the case.“I was trusting the process, all the rehab. I knew the training staff was going to do a good job of cutting me loose when I was ready,” Deayon said.Deayon is back on the field, having returned to practice on Sunday. On Tuesday, it was apparent that the opportunity is still there for Deayon to earn the job as the team’s slot corner. During 7-on-7 red zone drills Deayon took reps with the first-team defense. During a situational drill at the end of practice, he intercepted a Davis Webb throw. The competition for cornerback spots still appears to be wide open.“I definitely think it’s still a competition at the end of the day and I’m putting my best foot forward,” Deayon said. “I think this is a big opportunity. Just gotta take it one day at a time and step up and be accountable and seize the moment.”With two preseason games remaining and less than two weeks until the Giants have to cut players to reach the 53-man roster limit, it would be logical to think Deayon feels pressure to make up for lost time. He insisted on Tuesday, though, that that is not the case.“No pressure. You know me, I’m excited, I love to do this. I’m just taking it one day at a time, one step at a time. Not looking forward right now, just trying to focus on each day,” he said.“I just want to build that trust Color Rush Curtis Riley Jersey , gain their trust and build that foundation by stacking good days. When you get hurt and you’re not on the field you can talk about it, but you can’t really show them. My main goal is to just each day just keep proving to them that I can do it.”Deayon has been trying to prove himself for three years now. An undrafted free agent out of Boise State, he landed on the practice squad in 2016, but finished the year on IR. He played in four regular-season games last season, but again ended the year on IR.“You get in those positions where it’s next man up and you want to be available to where you’re the next man up,” Deayon said. “I’ve been in that situation where when it was next man up I was also injured. One of the goals for me is to prove that I can play, I can stay on the field, I can be healthy and make plays.”Despite the three weeks on the sideline, the opportunity is still there for Deayon. We begin to find out if he can seize it on Friday vs. the New York Jets. Good morning, New York Giants fans! Here are your trade deadline Tuesday headlines.Eli understands the situationSay what you want about Eli Manning, he made it clear Monday during his weekly spot on WFAN with Mike Francesa that he doesn’t have his head in the sand when it comes to his future with the 1-7 Giants.Manning is third in the NFL in completions (215), seventh in completion percentage (68.3) and fourth in passing yardage (2,377). But he has thrown only eight touchdown passes, and the Giants are 28th in the NFL in scoring with an average of 18.8 points a game. In the red zone, the Giants have scored just 10 touchdowns in 25 trips Youth Odell Beckham Jr Jersey , a 40 percent rate that is the league’s second-worst.Manning has consistently said he won’t waive his no-trade clause before Tuesday’s 4 p.m. ET deadline.Weird numbers from Pro Football FocusPro Football Focus data is a wonderful tool, but sometimes the numbers just don’t make any sense. In the chart below, PFF shows three of the five highest-graded offensive players Sunday vs. the Washington Redskins were offensive linemen. If you watched the game you probably have the same question I do — how is that even possible? As poorly as the line played overall — seven sacks allowed, 10 quarterback hits, 2.9 yards per rushing attempt — those numbers don’t add up.In its weekly press packet, PFF said Solder allowed five total QB pressures (one sack and four hurries) which was tied for the fifth most among tackles in week 8. On top of this, Solder finished the game with a 94.3 pass blocking efficiency which ranked 33rd out of 43 eligible tackles from Week 8. Yet, he is the second-highest graded offensive player?Doesn’t make sense.Around the Inter-GoogleThe Giants owe Eli Manning one last start to finish seasonNo matter how it plays out, Eli Manning should get to make one last start in the regular-season finale against the Cowboys at MetLife. But there’s still a few who could really make a difference for the rest of the season — and there’s always a chance for a surprise performance to pop up later in the season. So with that said, here’s a few waiver wire targets as we head into Week 4.Calvin Ridley, WR, Atlanta FalconsRostered - Yahoo: 44% | ESPN: 40.8%Hopefully you got on the Ridley train before Week 3, but a lot of people didn’t He’s still available in more than half of fantasy leagues on both Yahoo and ESPN. The three touchdown game Ridley just had was great and while that’s not something he’s going to do weekly, there’s some staying power with the presence in the Falcons offense.Ridley is tied for second on the team in targets (15), but what he’s done with those is so much better. He has the edge on Sanu in receptions (11 to 10), yards (210 to 73), and average depth of target (14 to 6.4). Sanu appears to have a handle on the snap count advantage, but Ridley looks like he’s turning into the true No. 2 option in the passing game. As a receiver across from Julio Jones on a team that might be in some shootouts New York Giants Hoodie , Ridley is a must own if you’re in a league where he’s still available.Tyler Boyd, WR, Cincinnati BengalsRostered - Yahoo: 17% | ESPN: 23.7%The No. 2 option on the Bengals’ offense isn’t as sexy, but Tyler Boyd has been incredibly productive through three weeks. Boyd is second on the team in targets (21) and leads the team in receiving yards (249). Boyd isn’t exactly a deep threat, but he does lead the team in aDOT (12.0). Right now Boyd is WR16 by PPR scoring and he’s barely owned in fantasy. The Bengals offense has been clicking since Bill Lazor took over as offensive coordinator and the Bengals have a pretty favorable schedule of secondaries over the next couple weeks with the likes of Atlanta, Pittsburgh, Kansas City, and Tampa Bay among the teams faced before Cincinnati’s bye.Geronimo Allison, WR, Green Bay PackersRostered - Yahoo: 34% | ESPN: 34.2%It’s rare that a player on so many waiver wire add columns after Week 1 is still available after Week 3, but that’s where we are with Geronimo Allison. Allison hasn’t had fewer than 64 receiving yards in Green Bay’s first three games and even when he only got a season-low four targets this past week, he turned it into 76 yards and a touchdown.Allison is only the Packers’ third receiver, but Green Bay is using 11 personnel (three wide receivers) on nearly 80 percent of their offensive snaps this season — Allison has been on the field for 75.2 percent of Green Bay’s offensive snaps. He’s the deep threat for an Aaron Rodgers offense, which is never a bad place to invest.Buck Allen Cheap Customized New York Giants Jerseys , RB, Baltimore RavensRostered - Yahoo: 27% | ESPN: 39.3%Skip ahead if you’re someone who invested in Alex Collins this season (*raises hand*). For some reason, the Ravens are fascinated by giving the ball to Allen near the goal line this season. Only Carlos Hyde, Todd Gurley, and Adrian Peterson have more carries inside the 5-yard line, which has resulted in two touchdowns.Having Allen on your roster is banking on the Ravens continuing to get near the end zone and use Allen in this role, but there’s nothing to suggest that role is going to disappear anytime soon, even if there’s still a better back on the roster.Mark Andrews, TE, Baltimore RavensRostered - Yahoo: 1% | ESPN: 1.1%If you need a streamer at tight end or are in a super deep league, Andrews might not be a bad place to look. The Ravens will play the Steelers this week, a team that has been killed by the tight end so far this season. Andrews’s 9.9 intended air yards is ninth among tight ends with at least eight targets. Andrews is also second on the team in yards per reception (13.4). He only played 38 percent of the snaps this past week when he caught two passes for 59 yards, but he’s clearly the pass catching tight end on the roster and his role could grow.

— they have to wait until Monday Night Football to take the field against the San Francisco 49ers. A couple of former Giants , however, will be notably active Sunday. Ereck Flowers and Davis Webb are both in the news for their new teams.Adam Schefter of ESPN reported early Sunday morning thatFlowers will get the start at left tackle for the Jacksonville Jaguars. Flowers started the season as the Giants’ starting right tackle, but was benched following their week 2 loss to the Dallas Cowboys despite showing improvement in his second game at the position. He was later cut and signed as a free agent by the Jaguars when their own starting left tackle, Cam Robinson New York Giants Womens T-Shirt , was lost to injury. But Flowers won’t be the only former Giants who will be notably active Sunday. Former Giants’ backup quarterback Davis Webb was promoted from the New York Jets practice squad to their active roster following an injury to Sam Darnold. Webb was one of the more surprising cuts prior to the regulars season. There were reports from a variety of writer throughout the offseason program that the big-armed workaholic, at times, appeared to be the Giants’ best quarterback. He had a bad start to the preseason, but rebounded impressively with a very strong start against the Detroit Lions. There were many who assumed that he would be the Giants’ backup in the regular season and battle Kyle Lauletta for the chance to be the heir to Eli Manning.Apparently New York Giants Hats , Webb wasn’t impressive enough and was waived as a part of the final cut-downs. He ultimately landed on the Jets’ practice squad, but his contract structure suggested that was only temporary. Josh McCown is still the likely starter, but Webb will finally be active and have the chance to play in a real NFL game.Carolina TE Greg Olsen won’t play vs. Giants on Sunday The Carolina Panthers could get an offensive boost when they play the New York Giants. Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network is reporting that All-Pro tight end Greg Olsen might make his return from injury this Sunday.Olsen fractured his foot in the Panthers week one victory over the Dallas Cowboys. It was the same foot which had been surgically repaired following a Jones fracture at the start of the 2017 season. Olsen managed to avoid surgery and the injured reserve and his return could provide a major boost to a Panthers passing offense which as relied heavily on running back Christian McCaffrey. If he is able to return this week and be anything like the Greg Olsen with whom the NFL has become familiar, that would be bad news for a Giants’ defense which has been 22nd in the league against tight ends. The good news New York Giants Womens Hoodie , for the Giants anyway, is that risk of re-injury makes a week six return more likely for Olsen. As well as the fact that foot injuries can be problematic for receivers, and the original fracture is similar to the ones once suffered by Hakeem Nicks and Dez Bryant. That being said, it would be foolish for the defense to plan for anything other than Olsen to be playing and at full strength.

on Patriots quarterback Tom Brady In January , it has been reported that New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady will be the subject of a documentary that will give an intimate behind-the-scenes look at the NFL’s biggest star – one that is coincidentally the face of the league’s most seclusive franchise: The series Tom vs Time chronicled Brady’s fight against football mortality in six episodes. The first five of those episodes premiered over the course of the two weeks leading up to Super Bowl LII, with another one airing a month after New England’s 41-33 loss on the game’s biggest stage. However, the series finale turned out to not be the last episode of the series: an epilogue was announced yesterday and went online earlier today. The epilogue – titled The Next Game – shows a reflective Brady talking about the drama that was created by some members of the media surrounding his absence during voluntary workout. It also shows a player looking forward to the challenges ahead, one far from done. You can watch the episode above or by following this link, and the previous ones here:New England Patriots links 9/26/18 - After abominable performance, Defense hoping bumbles bounce TEAM TALKGame Preview: Patriots vs. Dolphins. Authentic Elandon Roberts Jersey , when NFL Network reported that Patriots wide receiver Josh Gordon would not start the game as discipline for showing up late to work. As it turned out, Gordon did start the game, and coach Bill Belichick said afterward that he had “no idea” where the report came from.So does that mean Gordon hasn’t actually been late to work? That’s unclear. Gordon himself was asked that question directly and didn’t give a direct answer.“If I haven鈥檛, I鈥檝e been helped along the way,鈥?Gordon said. 鈥淪o, I鈥檓 definitely thankful for all the help I鈥檝e gotten here and I鈥檓 definitely appreciative to figuring my way out here.鈥漈hat doesn’t really answer the question about whether Gordon has been late, but if he was, he clearly wasn’t benched for it. Off-field issues have nearly derailed Gordon’s career and caused the Browns eventually to give up on him and trade him to New England. Time will tell if off-field issues derail his career again in New England, but so far nothing off the field has kept him from doing his job on the field. Memphis Grizzlies forward Omri Casspi, who was born in Israel, was early in his NBA career when he saw a picture of himself defaced with a swastika. Arizona Cardinals quarterback Josh Rosen grew up with kids who made fun of the size of his nose.New England Patriots receiver Julian Edelman has heard anti-Semitic taunts during games, but he had been willing to write them off as opposing fans "just trying to get underneath your skin.""You've been called stuff here and here," Edelman said. "But nothing to the extent where it's got me feeling the way a lot of Jews are feeling right now."In the month since a massacre at the Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh killed 11 people and injured six others , Jewish athletes said they were shocked by the shooting yet not concerned for their own safety as they travel, train and compete."There's crazy people out there, and it is what it is," Casspi said. "The notion is that anti-Semitism is dead 鈥?it's always going to be (around). Some people are just like that. There's going to be racist people, there's going to be anti-Semites."Robert Bowers has pleaded not guilty to murder and hate crime charges in the Oct. 27 shooting during Shabbat morning services. He remains jailed without bail.Americans of all religions have rallied in support for the victims of the deadliest anti-Semitic attack in U.S. history. Hometown quarterback Ben Roethlisberger wore cleats integrating a Jewish star into the Pittsburgh Steelers logo, along with the words "Stronger than Hate."But for Jewish athletes, the shooting hit especially hard."I'm horrified by it," said Los Angeles Angels manager Brad Ausmus, who managed the Israeli team in the 2013 World Baseball Classic. "Just the callousness and the loss of life. It takes someone that's unhuman to do something like that to innocent people."Jews in the United States have long cherished role models like Detroit Tigers slugger Hank Greenberg, Chicago Bears quarterback Sid Luckman or Olympic swimmer Mark Spitz. And any history of Jewish athletes includes the time Dodgers ace Sandy Koufax refused to pitch in the World Series because it conflicted with the holiday of Yom Kippur.Other Jewish players remain scattered throughout sports 鈥?a point of pride for fellow Jews but also a potential target for anti-Semitism."Sometimes people don't even think they're being racist, but they might be a little offensive," Rosen said.Casspi said he has always felt safe in the U.S., but while playing in Europe his Israeli team at times encountered violent protesters or played with no fans in the arena out of safety concerns.Athletes speak often of worrying only about things within their control; as far as game preparation goes Youth Lawrence Guy Jersey , racism and religious bigotry qualify as distractions. And so Edelman's inclination was to "keep your head down" and not let it bother him."A lot of guys have got to deal with a lot of stuff when it comes to name calling," he said. "You get so wrapped up in football and your assignment that you brush stuff off and don't let it get to you. ... You take the high road, and you go from there."But after the synagogue shooting, Edelman decided it was time to go public.Following the Patriots' Nov. 4 victory over the Green Bay Packers, he wore an Israeli baseball cap for his postgame interviews as a shoutout to those in Pittsburgh."It's disgusting what happened. And I'm just backing them up," he said in a follow-up interview. "I'm proud of who I am and what I am. Just to let these victims know: 'We're all with you. This is a very tough time for you. I can't even imagine. But you have support.'""It's not like one of those things where you're gonna put your head under the ground and kind of hide," he said. "You're gonna say, 'Hey, that's what makes us stronger.'"Rosen has also embraced his Judaism, developing a celebration dance called "The Hebrew Hammer" in the hopes that he can be a role model for Jewish fans and a leader in a locker room that includes a variety of races and religions."You can identify with any leader or role model you want. I'm just trying to be a good one," he said. "It is a part of me that I'm proud of, culturally."Ausmus said many of the Jewish baseball players have a kinship, some of it from being part of a minority in the sport and some from playing together in the World Baseball Classic. "(It) has kind of fostered that feeling of connection ," he said."They're spread throughout ... 25 different organizations, they come together," Ausmus said. "Every four years, you make that connection based on your heritage."A three-time Gold Glove catcher who went to Dartmouth and played 18 years for four major league clubs, Ausmus said he wasn't particularly religious when growing up with a Jewish mother and Protestant father. The only time he experienced anti-Semitism as a major leaguer was when a fan shouted things at a teammate. The thing is, he wasn't even Jewish."His last name sounded Jewish," Ausmus said. "So the fan was ignorant in a couple different areas."AP Sports Writers Kyle Hightower, Janie McCauley, Noah Trister and Robert Baum contributed to this report.

and New England Patriots are few and far between heading into Sunday night’s matchup at Gillette Stadium. No former Patriots will be on the field for the Packers David Andrews Jersey , aside from Patrick Graham, now on the sideline as the defensive run-game coordinator and inside linebackers coach for Green Bay. Just one former Packer, meanwhile, will be on the field for New England. That’d be Lawrence Guy.And unlike Graham, he’ll be wearing pads and a helmet as the 8:20 p.m. ET kickoff gets underway. The last of 10 picks made by Green Bay’s war room in 2011, Guy heard his name called in the seventh round at No. 233 overall. Offensive tackle Derrick Sherrod, wide receiver Randall Cobb, running back Alex Green, cornerback Davon House, tight end D.J. Williams, guard Caleb Schlauderaff, linebackers D.J. Smith and Ricky Elmore, as well as tight end Ryan Taylor all had theirs called by then. But of whom, only Cobb, a second-rounder and eventual Pro Bowler, has gone on to appear in more NFL games than Guy since then.Five other members of the class appeared in fewer than 30 during their careers. Seven in all were off NFL rosters by 2015.That appeared to be the trajectory Guy was heading on.He never played beyond the preseason for the team that drafted him.The 6-foot-4, 315-pound defensive tackle out of Arizona State landed on injured reserve after suffering a concussion in August of his rookie year. He later joined the Indianapolis Colts’ 53-man roster after spending the first month of the 2012 regular season on the Packers’ practice squad. And that’d be it for Guy’s stay in Green Bay. It spanned 537 days.Guy proceeded to the Colts for his first 11 games since entering the league, recording 22 tackles, one sack and one batted pass in the process. He found himself claimed off waivers by the then-San Diego Chargers in 2013 and then by the Baltimore Ravens in 2014, where a rotational role and job security were earned and maintained. That has carried over in Foxborough for Guy, who said on his introductory Patriots conference call that he’d “played down the whole line” and “been around the league a couple of times.”He will now revisit his first NFL team as a member of his fifth.Arriving in New England on a four-year deal worth up to $20 million March 2017, Guy started a career-high 15 games during the first leg of it. He set a new best with 58 tackles and added one sack while logging 582 snaps – eighth-most on the defense and second-most on the line behind Trey Flowers. A $500 Elandon Roberts Jersey ,000 bonus followed.Guy has been in for 51 percent of the downs thus far into 2018.The 28-year-old has started all eight games for the Patriots on a depth chart also featuring Danny Shelton, Malcom Brown and Adam Butler. He ranks eighth on the unit in combined tackles, trailing only linebackers, defensive backs and the aforementioned Flowers. And as for Pro Football Focus’ leaguewide grades for interior defenders, Guy currently holds the seventh spot.“I think Lawrence has done a really good job for us in a lot of ways on and off the field,” Patriots head coach Bill Belichick said during a late-September press conference. “Run, pass, technique, communication. Yeah, he’s been a really valuable player for us.“He’s a hard guy to block and he’s big. He uses his hands well. Again, he’s an instinctive player. He recognizes blocking schemes and play action and things like that. Yeah, he’s done a good job. He works hard and he’s gotten a lot better.”Sunday night will mark the first time that Guy, who has been active for games against 30 of the 32 teams, gets a chance to show those improvements versus Green Bay. Sam Darnold showed he could recover from a careless mistake — a promising trait for any rookie quarterback. What the New York Jets displayed on defense and special teams may have been even more encouraging for Darnold and his teammates.Darnold threw an interception on the very first snap of his NFL career — and it was run back for a Detroit touchdown — but New York's quarterback shouldn't sweat that too much after the Jets stormed back and routed the Lions 48-17 on Monday night. Darnold threw for 198 yards and two touchdowns, and the Jets also scored on defense and special teams."We're going to play better every game, that's our goal," wide receiver Quincy Enunwa said. "Obviously you can't always make it happen, that's going to be what we're striving for. All three phases being successful, scoring on all three phases. When you can do that, you can be a pretty good team."Darnold earned the starting job after the Jets drafted him third overall in this year's draft. His performance alone was cause for excitement Monday, but on this night, New York seemed to have a pretty solid cast around him as well. The Jets intercepted Matthew Stafford four times in a dismal debut for new Lions coach Matt Patricia."Give the Jets credit. They obviously are the ones that played well tonight Shaq Mason Jersey ," Patricia said. "We have to do better, I have to coach better and we have to play better."New York scored 31 unanswered points in the final 9:36 of the third quarter after the Lions had tied it at 17. Darron Lee returned an interception for a touchdown, and Andre Roberts scored on a 78-yard punt return 67 seconds later. What we learned from New York's resounding win:REBOUNDDarnold's start to this game was pretty much the worst-case scenario. On the first play from scrimmage, his ill-advised throw sailed toward the left sideline and was picked off by Quandre Diggs, who returned it 37 yards for a 7-0 lead. That was Darnold's only major error, however. He not only showed he could play well in prime time on the road, he also showed he could handle adversity. The 21-year-old Darnold was the youngest quarterback to start a season opener since the 1970 AFL-NFL merger. He was also the first quarterback to win his first start by 31 or more points since Tom Brady in 2001, per ESPN Stats & Info.STUCK IN NEUTRALThe Lions were unimpressive in the preseason, but it's always tough to tell how much that really matters. This opener confirmed this team has issues. It was the most lopsided loss for Detroit in an opener since a 45-0 shellacking at Washington in 1991. (Of course, the Lions ended up making the NFC title game that season).Detroit had scored at least 25 points in seven straight season openers, an NFL record. That streak is now over.Perhaps most distressing, the Jets said they had a read on Stafford's signals."We were calling out their plays as he was getting up to the line," Lee said.NO BALANCEDetroit did a lot to try to shore up the running game this offseason, drafting Kerryon Johnson and adding LeGarrette Blount. It was enough of an overhaul that Ameer Abdullah was inactive for the opener. The Lions ended up with 39 yards on 15 carries. Blount ran four times for minus-3 yards. Not a good sign."I know it sounds crazy, but we're a lot better football team than we showed," tackle Taylor Decker said. "I think we all know that and we're all secure and comfortable with that. We'll get better moving forward."X-FACTOR?Maybe it was just poor coverage by Detroit, but Roberts also had a 43-yard punt return in the first quarter in addition to his touchdown.EXPECTATIONSOne victory doesn't make the Jets a Super Bowl team, but the lopsided nature of this one is hard to ignore, and now New York has winnable games the next two weeks against Miami and at Cleveland.Detroit is at San Francisco next weekend.

search possibly has been answered. In theory.According to Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer , G.M. John Dorsey will run the search for a new coach. Writes Cabot of Dorsey: “[H]e鈥檒l lead the charge and will have full authority to conduct it any way he wants — and make his first career coaching hire.”That sounds good in theory, but as a practical matter (given the team’s recent history) ownership could be involved. And ownership will have opinions. And ownership may have preferences. And ownership will surely downplay the connection between ownership’s opinions and preferences in order to diminish the perception of meddling. The reality could be very different, especially with two months to plan the search, which undoubtedly will include plenty of off-the-record communications to candidates who may be interested, and plenty of off-the-record communications from candidates who may be interested.Given the presence of quarterback Baker Mayfield, plenty of coaches will want the job. Ultimately, the challenge will be making a decision at the exclusion of all other viable options. Following a lengthy training camp and five meaningless preseason outings, the Baltimore Ravens finally got the chance to evaluate themselves in a game that counts.Judging by their 47-3 rout of the Buffalo Bills on a rainy Sunday, the Ravens might be pretty darn good. Then again, that might be tough to determine: The Bills looked absolutely awful.Baltimore harassed and embarrassed Buffalo quarterback Nathan Peterman, and the Ravens got three touchdown passes from Joe Flacco in an opener worth savoring."Anytime you go get a win in Week 1, it's great Youth Myles Garrett Jersey ," Flacco said. "Anytime you have a performance like we did, it's great. We just have to make sure we build on this."Flacco's TD passes were distributed to each of the three new receivers Baltimore added during the offseason to enhance a lackluster passing attack. The 11-year veteran went 25 for 34 for 236 yards before being replaced in the third quarter by rookie Lamar Jackson, who did little more than hand off the ball after entering with a 40-0 lead.Making their debut under defensive coordinator Don Martindale, the Ravens held Buffalo to 33 yards and no first downs in going up 26-0 at the half."Whatever they threw at us, we were able to answer," linebacker Terrell Suggs said.LeSean McCoy finished with 22 yards on seven carries and the Bills had 70 yards passing."LeSean McCoy is a threat. You have to start with that," Ravens coach John Harbaugh said. "Then you have to get to the quarterback and make him throw quick. That's what our guys were able to do today."Making his third NFL start, Peterman went 5 for 18 for 24 yards and two interceptions for a quarterback rating of 0.0.After Baltimore followed two Buffalo miscues with a pair of touchdowns for a 40-0 lead, coach Sean McDermott turned to rookie Josh Allen, who went 6 for 15 for 74 yards in Buffalo's most lopsided defeat since a 56-10 loss to New England in November 2007."Obviously, it wasn't a good showing," Peterman said. "We've got to do a lot better Authentic Terrance Mitchell Jersey , starting with me."There's a quarterback controversy brewing in Buffalo. Asked about a possible change in starters, McDermott replied, "I'm going to look at everything. ... It's too early to go one way or another."If that was Buffalo's only problem, it might be easier to overcome."We need to focus more on the entire team, not just the quarterback," receiver Zay Jones said. "Offensive line, running backs, wide receivers, defense. We have to do better."Baltimore had six sacks and limited Buffalo to 153 yards. The Ravens and Bills both finished 9-7 last year, but Buffalo won the tiebreaker and earned its first playoff berth since 1999. Since then, however, the Bills sent quarterback Tyrod Taylor to Cleveland and had to replace two starting offensive linemen. The new-look Bills were not very pretty.Buffalo won the opening coin toss Womens David Njoku Jersey , deferred until the second half and subsequently offered little resistance while Baltimore mounted a 10-play drive that ended with an 8-yard touchdown run by Alex Collins.Baltimore quickly added a 7-yard touchdown pass from Flacco to John Brown, who was signed as a free agent after playing with Arizona last year.A 51-yard punt return by rookie Janarion Grant set up a field goal in the second quarter, and Baltimore added another field goal after an interception by Tony Jefferson in Buffalo territory.Michael Crabtree made a tippy-toe catch in the back corner of the end zone for a 12-yard TD late in the half, and Willie Snead scored on a 13-yard catch to make it 33-0 in the third quarter.Crabtree was signed in March after a three-year run with Oakland, and Snead was secured as a restricted free agent from New Orleans.SPREAD THE WEALTHTo get touchdowns from each of their new receivers was gratifying to Harbaugh, who hopes his team can end a three-year playoff drought."To see Joe spread the ball around like that, and to see all the guys step up and play plays was the thing I'm most excited about," the coach said.INJURIESBills: CB Taron Johnson left with a shoulder injury and did not return.ROOKIE WATCHBills: Linebacker Tremaine Edmunds is the first Bills rookie with a sack in the season opener since 2002 and first with a forced fumble since 2013.Ravens: Before entering in the third quarter, Jackson was used sporadically — mostly as a decoy, although he did run once (for no gain) and throw an incomplete pass.UP NEXTBuffalo opens its home schedule against the Los Angeles Chargers next Sunday afternoon.Baltimore travels to Cincinnati for a Thursday night matchup between AFC North rivals. Mahomes has one of the strongest arms the NFL ever has seen, and he has displayed it throughout the first two weeks of the regular season.“I know when I am amped up, I throw it pretty hard sometimes, but luckily I have guys that can catch it,” Mahomes told reporters this week. “There is so much difference of having arm ability. You have to be able to throw it hard, you have to be able to throw it with touch. You have to be able to do everything in this league and I try to get better at every single one of those throws every single day.鈥滺e said his hardest throw ever came two weeks ago, against the Chargers.“I have probably thrown it as hard as I can a couple times,” Mahomes said. “Whenever there are those tight windows, I let it go. This will help people build a list of names to know when we get into the offseason. For this week, Josh, Alex, and Greg each picked two players to talk about. All prospects highlighted are featured today; nonetheless, feel free to drop in the prospects you are watching. All game times listed are PT.Josh EcclesHjalte Froholdt, #51 - Arkansas Height: 6’4” | Weight: 311 | 40 time: 5.31North Texas at Arkansas | 1:00pm (PT) Saturday, September 15 | SEC NetworkFirst off: what a great name, right? Scouts are going to like what they see from Hjalte Froholdt when they turn on his tape. When he first arrived on campus he was actually listed as a defensive lineman until ineffectiveness and a lack of depth on the offensive line forced coaches to make the decision of switching up his position. He saw early growing pains but eventually helped the Razorback offense average 428.4 yards per game (2016). He’s mobile , strong and tough - not unlike former teammate and 2018 first-round pick Frank Ragnow. He’ll likely be the top interior O-line prospect in next year’s draft - known for his athleticism, brute strength and tenacity, the 6-5, 315-pound blocker looks to live up to the hype at left guard as the season progresses. As things stand there’s still a bit of a toss-up between guards Joshua Garnett, Jonathan Cooper, and Mike Person so if San Francisco finds themselves in position to add to their offensive line then they shouldn’t think twice about pulling the trigger on Froholdt. Ty Summers, #42 - TCUHeight: 6’2” | Weight: 239#4 Ohio State vs. #15 TCU (AT&T Stadium) | 5:00pm (PT) Saturday, September 15 | ABCReuben Foster is undoubtedly the leader of an up-and-coming linebacker core for the 49ers, which includes the young promising talent that is Fred Warner. Malcolm Smith is a continuous question mark, though, which leaves San Francisco with the opportunity to add to an already-talented group. Enter Ty Summers, whose high motor and strong work ethic should make him a welcome addition to any defense in the NFL.Summers has shown improvement each and every year in college. He has good athleticism and high intelligence (which can be attributed to his experience of playing quarterback in high school). Ty Summers won't be the first linebacker off the board in the 2019 NFL Draft but he should warrant, at the very least, some serious consideration come the mid-to-late rounds of the draft.Alex EisenDavid Edwards, OT, No. 79 - WisconsinHeight: 6’7” | Weight: 315 | 40 Time: 5.30BYU at #6 Wisconsin | 3:30pm (EST) Saturday, September 15th | ABCDavid Edwards is one of the stronger run blockers in the country. His ability to create holes and blocks for the ball handler has been evident thus far. Edwards has a great blend of upper and lower body strength, with clean footwork, and efficient, initial burst off the snap. On tape, Edwards has demonstrated the ability to push defenders backwards, and off the line of scrimmage. Edwards plays well at the point of attack Authentic Pierre Garcon Jersey , and has great awareness for the action around him. Plays with bruising and physical tactics, especially in designed runs and packages.Edwards will need to improve his play on passing plays. On tape, at times, pass rushers have found their away around Edwards. He needs to develop better overall leverage in pass protection. Has strong hands, but he needs to rely on them more as he transitions to the next level. Right tackle seems to be his most natural and comfortable position along the line. It is yet to be seen if Edwards can transition over to the left. I would imagine most, if not all teams at the next level envision him as a true right tackle. It will be intriguing to see how Edwards plays in pass protection once conference play begins. At the moment Edwards is looking like a day two prospect. With improvements in the pass protection department and against the more athletic pass rushers, his arrow will be pointing up, as well as his draft stockCollin Johnson, WR, No. 9 - TexasHeight: 6’5” | Weight: 225 | 40 Time: 4.52#22 USC at Texas | 8:00pm (EST), Saturday, September 15th | FOXCollin Johnson finished the 2017 season with 54 receptions, for 765 yards and 2 touchdowns. His measurements and frame are what scouts and evaluators seek at the next level. Johnson has the height and weight to out-box and physically dominate corners in one-to-one matchups. Has good speed for the position and can crate separation at all three levels on the field (Short, Intermediate, and Deep Routes). On tape, Johnson has demonstrated his ability to create yards after the catch. Has strong hands, and is a reliable pass catcher. His stats tell us that we would like to him to see the end zone more in 2018. Johnson is continuing to develop his route tree. A smooth runner, who brings a physical presence along the line of scrimmage, and has the ability to move the chains and advance the series. Has a favorable wingspan, and creates large windows for his quarterback. He should prove to be a red-zone threat at the next level. Adding more speed and agility will benefit Johnson and his draft stock moving forward. Should he declare for next year’s draft he is looking like an early day two prospect at the moment. There is certainly more room for growth and development. As I mentioned earlier, finding the end zone more this season will greatly benefit Johnson. I want to see more of a red-zone presence this season. Johnson’s measurements can make him a nightmare to cover inside the twenty.Greg ValerioD’Andre Walker, OLB , No. 15 - GeorgiaHeight: 6’3” | Weight: 250Middle Tennessee at No. 3 Georgia | 4:15 p.m. (PT) Saturday, September 15 | ESPN 2D’Andre Walker is a versatile athlete with excellent first-step explosion. He is quick to transition into his pass rush with great body control, power, balance, and nice change of direction skills flying out of the arc from his bend adjusting with great fluidity. Walker is a force in the run game displaying sound awareness, balance, and the strength setting the edge (shows discipline maintaining containment and great at stacking and shedding). Moreover, he showcases the fluidity and short area quickness in space, where he displays sound instincts and awareness quickly diagnosing and attacking arriving in a hurry finishing with violent tendencies.Walker also displays impressive coverage skills taking full advantage of his speed, athleticism, and savviness covering a lot of the field occupying passing lanes, and flashes solid skills covering running backs, tight ends, and wide receivers. An ideal three-down SAM backer, Walker offers violent explosion rushing off the edge and inside, a stout run defender, and a disruptive force in coverage.Noah Fant, TE, No. 87 - IowaHeight: 6’5” | Weight: 243 | 40 time: 4.64Northern Iowa at Iowa | 4:30 p.m. (PT) Saturday, September 15 | BTNAfter an impressive 2017 campaign leading the nation’s tight ends with 16.5 yards per catch and 11 touchdown receptions, Noah Fant’s expectations are expected to continue to rise. The junior boasts freakish athleticism with a multi-sport background in basketball and track (sprints, high jump , triple jump). Although he spends a good amount of time as an effective blocker in Iowa’s scheme, Fant is an athletic pass catching tight end with a great combination of size, speed, athleticism, and the hops to be a red zone threat (42.1” vertical leap). Moreover, he displays the versatility to be used as an offensive weapon all over the field - a Kyle Shanahan special.Fant displays his natural athletic gifts as a versatile prospect lining up end of line, detached, in the backfield, and out wide. He shows great explosion off the line, nice suddenness in and out of his breaks, strong hands (extends arms to make the catch), and excellent ball skills. Fant displays a keen ability to block end of line at the point of attack in a three-point stance, the agility to reach the next level and block in space with a sound base, platform, and the ability to swing his hips blocking in space whether end of line, detached, or coming downhill from the backfield. In pass protection, he showcases a solid base, platform, and hand positioning is sound, as well as displaying the ability to slide laterally with good balance. Consistency and increased functional strength will bode well for Fant at the next level.

The San Francisco 49ers will be without running back Matt Breida the rest of the day in Week 5 San Francisco 49ers Hoodie , according to FOX announcer Jennifer Hale. Breida suffered an ankle injury in the second quarter when Cardinals safety Budda Baker landed on it. Breida had the ankle taped, but then went to the locker room and did not return. The team formally ruled him out early in the third quarter.Breida was having a big day, with 56 rushing yards on eight carries. He has been the team’s biggest playmaker out of the backfield in a big way. In Breida’s absence, Alfred Morris becomes the primary lead back, and Raheem Mostert is his backup. The 49ers do not return to action until Monday Night Football next week, so Breida gets an extra day of rest. If he cannot go in Week 6, the team would likely promote Jeff Wilson from the practice squad. Kyle Shanahan will get a chance to comment on the injury after the game, and we’ll see what Monday testing provides.Which non-49ers game are you looking forward to in Week 4? Welcome to Week 4 of the NFL season. The rest of the league has a tough act to follow with the tremendous Thursday Night Football contest between the Los Angeles Rams and Minnesota Vikings. I never thought I’d say that might be the game of the week, but that truly could have been the game of the week. The San Francisco 49ers get going in the afternoon at 1:25 P.M. in an away game against the Los Angeles Chargers. This gives the slew of morning games for us to watch since more games come on in the morning. It’s a shame that they also will be playing when the Cleveland Browns take on the Oakland Raiders. This will be Baker Mayfield’s first start and I’m curious how the Raiders woes can continue into the season. The Browns are riding off their first win in 635 days which makes it nothing more intriguing to see if they can win a second game. If there’s anyone they can do it against, it’s the Raiders. With the morning games, I’m more interested in Miami Dolphins/New England Patriots. The Patriots have had nothing but issues for 2018, and the Dolphins are currently undefeated. Can the Dolphins get over the hump? They certainly deserve it Cheap Customized San Francisco 49ers Jerseys , and I’m a Frank Gore fan. I’m also curious on the Chicago Bears/Tampa Bay Buccaneers for nothing else than to see the quarterback chaos with the Buccaneers going between Ryan Fitzpatrick and Jameis Winston. Jaquiski Tartt doubful Womens Dante Pettis Jersey ,  Week 4 The San Francisco 49ers and Los Angeles Chargers each released their final injury reports on Friday, and there are some notable names to consider. The 49ers will be without starting cornerback Richard Sherman, and likely will be without starting strong safety Jaquiski Tartt. Jimmie Ward and Ahkello Witherspoon will start at cornerback, and Antone Exum would likely start at strong safety.Running back Matt Breida is questionable after some ups and downs in practice. He injured his knee against the Chiefs in Week 3, and went from limited to full to limited in practice. Head coach Kyle Shanahan said the coaches and trainers will see how Breida is feeling when Sunday arrives before making a decision. The Chargers will be without defensive end Joey Bosa and right tackle Joe Barksdale once again. Bosa has yet to play this season, and Barksdale injured his knee in Week 1, and has not played since. Keenan Allen is the name to watch on Sunday. He was a DNP the first two days of practice, but got in a limited workout on Friday. My guess is he plays against the 49ers, but we’ll see how limited he is.49ers final injury reportOut: G Joshua Garnett (toe — DNP Youth Richard Sherman Jersey , DNP, DNP), CB Richard Sherman (calf — DNP, DNP, DNP)Doubtful: S Jaquiski Tartt (shoulder — DNP, DNP, DNP)Questionable: RB Matt Breida (knee — Limited, Full, Limited), S Adrian Colbert (hip — DNP Womens Alfred Morris Jersey , Limited, Limited), RB Alfred Morris (knee — Limited, Limited)Chargers final injury reportOut: T Joe Barksdale (knee — DNP, DNP, DNP), DE Joey Bosa (foot — DNP, DNP, DNP), LB Kyzir White (knee — N/A Authentic Richard Sherman Jersey , DNP, DNP)Questionable: WR Keenan Allen (knee, tooth — DNP, DNP, Limited), WR Travis Benjamin (foot — Limited, Limited, Limited) The San Francisco 49ers will have Nick Mullens starting at quarterback tonight as they host the New York Giants on Monday Night Football. Mullens made his regular season debut last week against the Oakland Raiders, and had one of the greatest debuts in NFL history. He completed 16 of 22 passes for 262 yards and three touchdowns. Even in an era of wildly inflated stats, it was a great performance.Jimmy Garoppolo is the 49ers quarterback of the future Womens Mike McGlinchey Jersey , but Mullens potentially has seven weeks to prove he is worth of a backup spot. You can never have enough good quarterbacks, and the 49ers could decide over the next two months that it’s worth trading Mullens or Beathard. That’s still a long way off, and for now, we are just concentrating on tonight’s game against the Giants. And with that in mind, I wanted to open the door to predictions for the 49ers quarterback. How many yards, touchdowns, and interceptions do you predict for Mullens tonight?I think we see another solid game against a bad Giants defense. I don’t expect things to go quite as well as they did against an atrocious Raiders defense, but I’ll go with 247 yards and two touchdowns, with no interceptions.

The New York Giants are once again watching their season slip away almost before it begins. The team might have one last chance to save their season when they travel to take on the Carolina Panthers this Sunday. If that is to happen Authentic Eli Manning Jersey , the defense might need to carry the day.The Giants’ defense has played well enough for them to win each of the games they have played, giving up just 20 points to both the Jacksonville Jaguars and Dallas Cowboys, and they played far better than the 33 points they gave up to the Saints would suggest. However, their Achilles heel this year has been running quarterbacks, and they face one of the best in the league in Cam Newton. Will the Giants’ defense be able to do enough to slow down the Panthers’ rushing attack and hope the offense can find an identity?Stats at a glance Panthers’ offenseRushing yards: 166.0 per gamePassing yards: 203.7 per gameTotal yards: 369.7 per gamePoints: 23.7 per gameGiants’ defenseRushing yards: 126.0 per gamePassing yards: 228.8 per gameTotal yards: 354.8 per gamePoints: 23.8 per gameCan the Giants finally defend the Zone-Read offense? The Carolina Panthers don’t have much of a passing attack. Their 203.7 yards per game is only good for 25th best in the league. However, they don’t need to throw the ball to move it, because they boast the league’s best running game, averaging 166 yards per game. And while Christian McCaffrey is a good runner of the ball — he averaged 6.6 yards per carry against the Cincinnati Bengals when he had 28 attempts — the reason for the Panthers’ success on the ground is Cam Newton. Or rather, the zone read. The Panthers are one of the few teams in the NFL to feature the zone read as a fundamental part of their offense. But then, they are the only team in the league to have Cam Newton at quarterback. The zone read exploded on to the NFL’s scene about eight years ago with the drafting of players like Newton and Colin Kaepernick — big, athletic quarterbacks who were runners as well as passers. The offense enjoyed a season or two of wide-spread success before retreating to be more of a trick play than an offensive staple. Defenses in the NFL are too smart, too big, too fast, and quarterbacks far too valuable for any scheme which consistently exposes them to hits to last long. But Newton is unique in his size, athleticism, and natural ability as a runner. The Panthers would be crazy to not feature the zone read with Newton running their offense. Combined with McCaffrey, the zone read is especially effective. The two players represent a stark contrast in styles, with McCaffrey’s shifty agility and Newton’s size and power. As well, even when McCaffrey is split out wide as a receiver, Newton’s presence always keeps the threat of a run on the table. Defending the zone read is relatively simple in theory: Maintain discipline on defense, play assignment-sound football Womens Connor Barwin Jersey , do not over-pursue, and tackle securely. However, it is more difficult than that in practice. The defense must be able to force the quarterback to make the read they want him to make, and the players must have the discipline to trust their teammates to play their assignments even though the offense is trying to create a numbers advantage. So far the defense has looked lost defending the zone read against the Jaguars, Cowboys, and Saints. The Giants will continue to see the zone read until they prove that they are able to stop it, and if they want to have a chance at winning this week, they will need to do just that.Run CMCChristian McCaffrey occupies a unique place in the NFL. He is not only his team’s top running back, but also effectively their top receiver.McCaffrey has three times as many carries (46) as the number two running back (C.J. Anderson, 12). He also has nearly twice as many receptions (22) as the next receiving option (Devin Funchess, 14). It isn’t accurate to say that he is the engine that makes the Panthers’ offense go — that would be Cam Newton — but McCaffrey is clearly their biggest threat. His receiving ability will likely get the most attention; he does run routes and catch the ball like a wide receiver. But McCaffrey’s running ability shouldn’t be ignored either. He is only listed at 5-foot-11, 205 pounds, but his lower body is remarkably powerful for a small back. Combined with his vision and rare short-area quickness, that power makes McCaffrey very hard to bring down around the line of scrimmage. All too often he manages to fight his way through arm tackles and pick up far more yards than one might expect just by looking at him. Now, back to that receiving ability for a moment. Like Alvin Kamara, McCaffrey lines up all across the offensive front, from the backfield, to slot receiver, to wide receiver. He is a natural catcher of the ball who runs good routes and adjusts well to the ball in flight. With his lower body power and movement skills, McCaffrey is a tough cover for most defenders — he doesn’t have the speed to run away from most defensive backs, but quick feet and remarkably fluid movement let him change directions very easily. If stopping the read option is the Giants’ first order of business Authentic Ray-Ray Armstrong Jersey , then containing McCaffrey must be the second.Who will be on the field?Despite giving up 33 points to the New Orleans Saints, the Giants’ defense has played well enough for the team to win in each of their games in 2018. But now, reinforcements might be on the way for their road trip to CarolinaDefensive tackle Josh Mauro’s suspension is over, and he is eligible to rejoin the team — though they will need to make a roster move to add him to the 53-man roster. The former Arizona Cardinals lineman was added to both help fill a role in the new defensive scheme and aid the transition to that scheme. Mauro played well with the second team in preseason, and was often around the ball, though that was against backup linemen. Top edge rusher Olivier Vernon could be on his way back as well. Vernon is still working his way back from a high ankle sprain suffered in practice during the preseason. However, he practiced twice in a row last week before being ruled out for the Giants’ game against the Saints. If Vernon has not suffered any setbacks, he could make his 2018 debut for a Giants team in desperate need of a true every-down threat off the edge. They have been getting along without him, with players like Kareem Martin, Connor Barwin, Lorenzo Carter, Dalvin Tomlinson, and B.J. Hill providing their meager pass rush. Adding Vernon to the mix could be the spark the front seven needs. Finally, we come to Eli Apple. the third year corner got off to a fantastic start in the first two games, but was lost in week two to a groin injury. B.W. Webb has played about as well as could be hoped in Apple’s absence, but there is a clear step down between the two. Apple had limited participation in practice before Week 4, and says that he is feeling “much better.” Getting all three players back — particularly Vernon and Apple — could be a tremendous boost for the Giants’ defense. Having two cornerbacks capable of matching up one-on-one with the Panthers’ receivers and their best EDGE player back could be huge against the Panthers’ run-based offense. Super Bowl winner, cancer survivor and NFLPA treasurer Mark Herzlich was among the 36 player moves made by the New York Giants in getting down to the league's 53-man roster limit. The Giants announced the moves Saturday in what won't be the last ones for the first team under new coach Pat Shurmur. General manager Dave Gettleman plans to scour the waiver wire this weekend to bolster a team that went 3-13 last season. There were some surprises. Defensive tackles A.J. Francis and Robert Thomas were released after playing well in the preseason, while free safeties Andrew Adams and Darian Thompson also were let go after contributing much of the past two seasons. One other surprise was the Giants kept four quarterbacks: Eli Manning, Davis Webb, rookie draft pick Kyle Lauletta and veteran Alex Tanney.Herzlich , who turned 31 on Saturday, had his contract terminated along with defensive backs Leonard Johnson and Chris Lewis-Harris, and offensive lineman Chris Scott.Thompson, who missed most of the preseason with a hamstring injury, and linebacker Jordan Williams (hip/shoulder) were waived-injured.Waived were: running backs Jalen Simmons and Jhurell Pressley; wide receivers Roger Lewis, Kalif Raymond, Travis Rudolph, Alonzo Russell, Marquis Bundy, Amba Etta-Tawo, and Jawill Davis; tight ends Ryan O'Malley and Garrett Dickerson; offensive linemen Malcolm Bunche, Zac Kerin, and Victor Salako; defensive linemen Thomas, Francis, Tyrell Chavis, and Izaah Lunsford; linebackers Calvin Munson, Warren Long, and Avery Moss; defensive backs Grant Haley, Mike Jones, Orion Stewart, and Adams; and kicker Marshall Koehn.Offensive linemen Nick Becton (ankle/wrist) and free agent Nick Gates (foot) were placed on injured reserve. Defensive lineman RJ McIntosh New York Giants T-Shirt , the team's fifth-round draft choice, was placed on the reserve/non-football injury list.Defensive lineman Josh Mauro will start the season on the reserve/suspended list. He is suspended for the first four games for violating the NFL's performance-enhancing drugs policy.Writing on his Instagram account Saturday, Herzlich said goodbye to New York after seven seasons and signed off with #onceagiantalwaysagiant. The move leaves quarterback Eli Manning and long snapper Zak DeOssie as the remaining players from Super Bowl-winning team after the 2011 season, Herzlich's rookie season. The Boston College product beat the odds to make the NFL as an undrafted free agent. He missed the entire 2009 college season after being diagnosed with Ewing's Sarcoma, a rare form of bone cancer. He returned in 2010 and made the Giants the following season."Excellence is the result of CARING more than others think is wise; RISKING more than others think is safe. DREAMING more than others think is practical and EXPECTING more than others think is possible," Herzlich wrote in saying goodbye.Herzlich played in 88 regular-season games with the Giants, making 17 starts and excelling on special teams. He was on injured reserve last season with a stinger.Five of the team's six draft choices (Saquon Barkley, Will Hernandez, Lorenzo Carter, B.J. Hill, and Lauletta) made the team. Four undrafted rookies and first-year players made roster: center Evan Brown, safety Sean Chandler, linebacker Tae Davis, and running back Robert Martin) along with second-year defensive tackle Josh Banks.Thompson started all 16 games at safety last season. The third-round pick has battled injuries in his first two seasons and missed most of training camp with a hamstring injury.Adams had 17 starts in his two seasons in New York, playing in 30 games. He never seemed to fit in the new 3-4 defensive scheme. With the receiving corps decimated by injuries last season, Lewis started eight games last season, catching 36 passes for 416 yards and two touchdowns.Moss was a fifth-round draft pick in 2017. He played in 11 games and had two starts but was bothered by injuries in camp.
