Every time something comes out about Marcus Mariota’s injury I feel like everybody acts like The Office does in this scene. It’s not time to freak out... yet. The Titans have not added a 3rd QB to the roster Jack Conklin Jersey White , which means they feel at worst, decent, about Marcus and his healing elbow. The Titans won’t play Marcus til he’s ready Ryan Tannehill Jersey , which makes perfect sense. Here’s hoping it feels better today so we can go into Jacksonville with a team that’s close to 100% health.Jack Conklin and Taylor Lewan are progressing. I don’t think Conklin will play this week, but would be surprised if Lewan didn’t. Vrabel was a little more level than some of us on Landry’s debut, but the fact remains that the Titans got an absolute steal from the look of it in the second round. The Titans added Durden back and Nick Williams Womens Kevin Byard Jersey , cutting beloved TE Firkser and Cameron Batson, who was a great story. Williams was impressive this preseason, so hopefully he can make an impact. The Colts offensive line is closing in on five straight games without allowing a sack http://www.thetitanslockerroom.com/authentic-curley-culp-jersey , but they will have to navigate the rest of Sunday’s game without center Ryan Kelly.Kelly went to the blue medical tent and then the locker room after going down on a Marlon Mack run in the fourth quarter. He’s being evaluated for a concussion and will not return to the game.Evan Boehm has taken over for Kelly. Given the time remaining and score, it might not be long before Andrew Luck is out as well. That score is 38-3 as the Colts didn’t let Kelly’s loss stop them from completing their fifth touchdown drive of the day. Luck hit Dontrelle Inman for a seven-yard score and that gives Luck three touchdown passes for the seventh-straight game. The first two scores went to T.Y. Hilton and Kelly’s injury has been the only bump in the road for the Colts offense on Sunday.: Jacoby Brissett is indeed in as the Colts run out the clock on what should be a win.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced that the team has placed wide receiver Sergio Bailey II on Injured Reserve and waived (injured) wide receiver Jake Lampman. Bailey joined Tampa Bay this offseason as a college free agent. He played in two preseason games with the team, catching five passes for 73 yards and one touchdown. He did well throughout camp practices and seemed to have gotten an understanding of the playbook.Lampman spent part of the 2017 season on the Buccaneers’ practice squad and was with the team this past offseason. During the preseason, Lampman caught two passes for 22 yards.Head coach Dirk Koetter spoke to the media Saturday and provided details to Bailey’s injury.“He actually had surgery this afternoon on his ankle,” Koetter said. “It was crazy. When we had the [weather] delay, the officials were talking to the league and talking to the TV network and the weather people and everything. They decided that we would be able to go on the field at 8:30. We were going to go straight through and have kickoff at 8:59. Normally we do a 23-minute warmup. We were out there for 29 minutes, including the coin toss and the national anthem. At the end of our normal warmup we do our drills Ronde Barber Jersey , we stretch, we do the individual. We do four plays of seven-on-seven and four plays of team, one punt and one field goal. When we were in the team segment – four plays – and it’s just, the tempo of that is probably 60 percent tempo. On the second or third play – first play, maybe, of team – Serge planted and he got back on his heels. It’s a wet field – he looked to me like he slipped. Reuben Foster discusses getting back on the field and the loss of Jimmy Garoppolo The 49ers went into Kansas City a little stronger with Reuben Foster slated for his return after missing the first two games from suspension. Foster finished the day with six solo tackles Kaden Smith San Francisco 49ers Jersey , one assist and one pass break up. While he gave everyone a scare, leaving the game when he had the wind knocked out of him, he went back in and played until the end — missing only one snap. In his post game media availability Foster discussed how good it felt to be back on the field but yet how he was feeling “down” as a result of losing both the game and Jimmy Garoppolo. Foster is, however, very confident in C.J. Beathard, who will take over for Garoppolo — if and when his ACL tear is confirmed. Foster said he went into to the training room to check on Garoppolo, like many players did. He reported that he could see in Garoppolo’s face that it was bad news. Foster added that it was “heart dropping” to see the leader of their team go down but he says the team will learn, and “man up.” Foster did not really want to discuss his temporary exit from the game after Kareem Hunt landed on and knocked the wind out of him, but he did say the saw a light when it happened. It is interesting, and nerve wracking, that anytime that Foster goes down in a game, it appears incredibly serious, but then he ends up going back into the game. As far as the second half adjustments that appeared to help the 49ers keep the offense on the field and defense off of it, Foster said that they slowed the game down and played “their game”. He admitted that there were a lot of missed tackles, including those made by Foster himself. He also added that he enjoyed playing next to Fred Warner who he has had instant chemistry with. He said that it feels like they've been playing together since middle school or high school. SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) — Robert Saleh sometimes beams with pride when watching film of his 49ers defense.Other times he wants to hide his eyes. It’s been a perplexing season for San Francisco’s defensive coordinator, as Saleh has found it difficult to get his young unit to string together four quarters of mistake-free football.“You see the flashes,” Saleh said Thursday. “You can go to every game, and there’s a block of plays where those guys are executing and performing at a very high level and they look unbelievable.“But when we trip over ourselves, it looks horrendous.”The 49ers’ knack for giving up big plays cost them dearly in Monday night’s 33-30 loss to Green Bay.Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers carved up San Francisco’s secondary during a game-winning drive in the final minute.Another big test awaits the 49ers (1-5) on Sunday afternoon when they host the undefeated Los Angeles Rams, who have the NFL’s top-ranked offense led by quarterback Jared Goff.To have any chance at an upset, San Francisco’s defense has to avoid the blown coverages and game-changing plays that have marked its season so far.“It’s just being where you’re supposed to be, when you’re supposed to be there, and doing that for 60, 70 2019 Kaden Smith Jersey , 80 plays,” veteran cornerback Richard Sherman said.Against the Packers, the 49ers gave up a 60-yard completion to a wide-open receiver on their first defensive snap, setting up a Green Bay touchdown. Two series later, a 54-yard completion on another busted coverage led to another touchdown. The 49ers then clamped down, holding the Packers to just two field goals over their next seven possessions, spanning the end of the first quarter to midway through the fourth. But trying to hold a 30-23 lead, San Francisco allowed 10 points in the final two minutes and lost. Rodgers picked apart the 49ers’ pass defense on the tying and game-winning drives.San Francisco ranks 25th in the league in pass defense (279 yards per game), too often leaving receivers wide open with plenty of room to run after the catch. The key is “guys staying on their details, doing their job,” defensive tackle DeForest Buckner said. “We’ve been having too many busts, and we can’t have that.”Saleh called for more blitzes than normal against Green Bay, and the result was three sacks and good pressure on other plays that threw Rodgers off his rhythm. But the 49ers need better play from whichever cornerback is playing opposite Sherman. Second-year corner Ahkello Witherspoon has lost his starting job for the time being.Jimmie Ward, who started in place of Witherspoon at Green Bay, is nursing a hamstring injury. His status for Sunday is unknown. Greg Mabin, who spelled Ward after he was injured Monday, gave up several completions as the Packers made their late comeback.Saleh, in his second season running San Francisco’s defense, said he’s examining his own game plans and preparation to make sure he’s putting players in the best position to succeed.“When we’re not communicating and there’s a lack of execution, it is not pretty. And that’s the thing that’s happening,” Saleh said. “We make the smallest mistake and it’s going for a lot of yards.”NOTES: Ward didn’t practice Thursday. Witherspoon (concussion protocol) and nickel back K’Waun Williams (shoulder) both practiced but were held out of contact. Among the receivers, Trent Taylor (back) and Pierre Garcon (shoulder, knee) were both limited. Dante Pettis (knee) worked on a side field.

The Arizona Cardinals hadn’t drafted a quarterback in the first round since Matt Leinart in 2006 when they selected Josh Rosen a year ago at 10th overall. Leinart and Rosen share one thing in..." for SiriusXMThe Arizona Cardinals hadn’t drafted a quarterback in the first round since Matt Leinart in 2006 when they selected Josh Rosen a year ago at 10th overall. Leinart and Rosen share one thing in common so far: being picked 10th overall by the Cardinals. The commonality that Rosen does not want to share however is also flaming out and being replaced almost immediately by an option the organization views as better. And yet as draft day approaches Gary Jennings Jersey , the marriage of Arizona and Oklahoma quarterback Kyler Murray at number one is a fantasy that is far too compelling to ignore. The two sides met on Tuesday, giving us an even more vivid view into what that world could look like. From the viewpoint of the Seattle Seahawks, the idea of the Cardinals drafting Murray immediately conjures up at least one positive outcome in the short term: Arizona wasted a top-10 pick last year. The Cardinals even traded up from 15 to 10, giving up a third rounder (eventually became Seattle’s own Rasheem Green) and fifth rounder in the process, and they did so to pass on Minkah Fitzpatrick, Vita Vea, and DaRon Payne. If they had stayed at 15, they could have selected Derwin James or Leighton Vander Esch. The team could have been no worse off if they had passed on Rosen and given Sam Bradford the season, or even a street free agent; they are picking first overall, remember? So the immediate “good” outcome for the Seahawks and the rest of the NFC West is that Arizona took a bit of a gamble and it has been an abject failure. The downside is that we don’t know if Murray would be a huge mistake or the best thing that’s ever happened to the Cardinals. If Murray is anything like Patrick Mahomes or Russell Wilson, nobody should waste time caring about the Rosen mistake.Even that isn’t necessarily a long-term mistake.Rosen only recently turned 22 and he was playing on one of the least-talented offenses in the NFL. Center Mason Cole was the only offensive lineman to start more than 10 games. Starting tight end Jermaine Gresham had 94 yards in 13 games. Larry Fitzgerald should not be anyone’s best target at this point in his career, especially when there aren’t any comparable receivers or tight ends on the roster. The offensive coordinator was fired, and eventually the head coach.I can’t imagine any reasonable person not worrying at least a little bit about the New England Patriots trading for Josh Rosen. On a competent team, with talent around him, and more experience under his belt, who knows what Rosen could still be. Which is why I think the most obvious answer as to do with Rosen if you draft Murray is: Keep him. If the return is less than a first round pick, you keep him and let the competition fuel the best performance out of each QB and see what happens. If you want to protect Murray for a year, you’ve got a bonus round with Rosen to see if he has the second-year leaps that Jared Goff, Carson Wentz, Eli Manning, and many others have had. If that’s the case, then Rosen could be worth keeping or trading for at least a first round pick. If not, then what did you lose to have a relatively cheap backup to your new starter? If the return is a third round pick, then you can risk that for the chance to see if you’ve got an actually good quarterback with Kliff Kingsbury and a whole new system in place. The other potential upside to all this from the perspective of Arizona’s rivals is that if they select Murray, and Murray isn’t good either, then they’ve taken this huge risk at quarterback while passing up some of the best pass rushing prospects of the decade. Will be interesting to see how this meeting went.Seahawks-Cowboys 2018 NFL season: Kickoff time, TV schedule, radio, live streaming, and more The Seattle Seahawks are in must-win territory if they want to keep realistic playoff hopes alive. They’ll look avoid an 0-3 start to the 2018 NFL season against the Dallas Cowboys, who are 1-1 after shutting down the New York Giants last Sunday night. This is the first home game of the year for the Seahawks, who were just 4-4 at CenturyLink Field last season. Since the stadium opened in 2002, the Seahawks are 14-2 in home openers, and unbeaten over the previous nine. They’ll be without linebacker K.J. Wright Gary Jennings Seattle Seahawks Jersey , left guard Ethan Pocic, and wide receiver Doug Baldwin, so the injury woes continue. However, they will get back Bobby Wagner from his groin injury, so that’s a huge plus. We can all agree that the onus is on Russell Wilson and the offense to play much better than we’ve seen over the last several games (dating back to last season). As for the Cowboys, their defense looks to be improved from recent years, and they’ve only allowed 29 points through two games. The Seahawks defense will also have to contend with Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott, something they brilliantly dealt with in their 2017 encounter in Arlington, but this is a revamped defense, so the outcome might be different this time. Here are all the details you need on Sunday’s pivotal Week 3 showdown, including broadcast information, live streaming options, radio commentary, and more:TV ScheduleDate: Sunday, September 23rd, 2018Time: 4:25 PM ET/1:25 PM PT Channel: FOX (check NFL coverage map)Announcers: Joe Buck and Troy Aikman (sideline reporter: Erin Andrews)Location: CenturyLink Field | Seattle, WashingtonRadio: 710 ESPN Seattle/97.3 KIRO FM (click here for additional TV and radio affiliates outside of the Seattle area)Radio Announcers: Steve Raible, Dave Wyman (Reporters: Jen Mueller and John Clayton)Online Streaming: NFL Game Pass (Free 7-Day Trial) | Sling TV | PlayStation Vue |YoutubeTVCurrent 53-man roster: Click hereOpponent Blog: Blogging the BoysFollow Field Gulls on social media!Twitter - @FieldGullsFacebook - Field Gulls: For Seattle Seahawks News and AnalysisSeahawks regular season schedule 2018September9/9: L 27-24 at Denver Broncos 9/17:L 24-17at Chicago Bears 9/23: vs. Dallas Cowboys (1:25 PM PT, FOX)9/30: at Arizona Cardinals (1:05 PM PT, FOX)October10/7: vs. Los Angeles Rams (1:25 PM PT, FOX)10/14: “at” Oakland Raiders in London (10 AM PT, FOX)10/21: BYE10/28: at Detroit Lions (10 AM PT, FOX)November11/4: vs. Los Angeles Chargers (1:05 PM PT, CBS)11/11: at Los Angeles Rams (1:25 PM PT, CBS)11/15 (Thu): vs. Green Bay Packers (5:20 PM PT, FOX/NFL Network)11/25: at Carolina Panthers (10 AM PT, FOX)December12/2: vs. San Francisco 49ers (5:20 PM PT, NBC)12/10 (Mon): vs. Minnesota Vikings (5:15 PM PT, ESPN)12/16: at San Francisco 49ers (1:05 PM PT, FOX)12/23: vs. Kansas City Chiefs (5:20 PM PT, NBC)12/30: vs. Arizona Cardinals (1:25 PM PT, FOX)

The NFL's revision of the catch rule figured to grab the spotlight this season. Then the league altered the regulations on using the helmet when making contact on both sides of the ball http://www.thetitanslockerroom.com/authentic-jayon-brown-jersey , basically making it a 15-yard penalty no matter where on the helmet strikes an opponent. Even players on offense and linemen in the trenches are subject to being flagged, with potential fines and ejections for particularly flagrant hits by lowering the helmet.Players are upset. Officials are deeper under the microscope. Fans are wondering why replay review isn't part of the entire process.Suddenly, the Dez Bryant and Jesse James non-catches are non-issues. It's all about the helmet hits, which unquestionably need to be removed from the game in a similar way that tacklers launching to make hits pretty much has been eliminated in the pros. Here's where things stand from a variety of constituencies as we head toward the kickoff of the 2018 schedule:THE LEAGUENFL executives were encouraged that the flags thrown for helmet-initiated hits dropped from 51 through the opening two weeks of the preseason to nine for Week 3 鈥?when many regulars get on the field, though in a limited capacity. Officials have been instructed not to flag incidental or inadvertent contacts with the helmet or facemask by defensive or offensive players. The deeper we get into games that count, the better those with the whistle or ball in their hands or the guys attempting tackles will have a handle on what's legal."These are necessary changes where the rules come in," says Troy Vincent, the NFL's football operations chief and one of the hardest hitters in the league when he played defensive back from 1992-2006. "As stewards for the long term, the well-being of the players comes first."Adds Giants owner John Mara, a long-time member of the competition committee that advises rules changes for teams to vote on:"I think officials and players will adapt to the rule, that is what happens every time we have a change based on player safety. There's an outcry at the beginning that it will change the game, and it never works out that way; statistics don't bear that out at all. Players should not lower their heads is what it is all about, and we should not have some of the injuries we have seen."THE OFFICIALSThe rule change has placed the men in stripes in even sharper focus. Simply put, at the current speed of play and with the size and power of players, any call is difficult. Now, a bit more judgment has been added, with decisions made in split seconds."It's still a work in progress because officials need to learn to instinctively read and react to this type of hit that they've never looked at before as a foul," says recently retired referee Terry McAulay, now an analyst for NBC. "So there is going to be some learning curve yet to come, but I think they're in a much better place than they were a week ago."One somewhat puzzling question remains: Why isn't video replay involved when some of these calls, especially if they lead to ejections, can be game changers?Well, it actually is, on a limited basis. Should a player be ejected for initiating helmet contact, Al Riveron and his staff at New York headquarters can affirm or overrule the ejection."Our charge is, No. 1 player safety: Make it safer in all ways," Riveron says. "No. 2, make sure we still have a product that is entertaining. And No. 3, find a happy balance with replay and how much it gets involved. We always stop the game to get it right."Mara believes replay could play a further role if officiating the rule becomes too problematic."I certainly think are a lot of people who would support adding those calls to instant replay and making them reviewable," he says, "and I think that's another discussion we could have in the offseason if it is warranted."THE DOCTORS AND RESEARCHERSThousands of hours and millions of dollars of data gathering, research, technological innovations and testing helped lead to the new rule. Every penny will have been well spent if usage of the helmet as a weapon disappears."It's an offshoot of all that work," says Jeff Miller, the league's executive vice president of health and safety initiatives, whose department works with medical professionals, researchers and equipment manufacturers. "An identification of what causes concussions and why there was a troubling increase in them."We see patterns, the increased velocity of the hits, the positioning of the head and neck ... that increase in force and magnitude of a hit, and not just with the crown of the helmet."Dr. Allen Sills, the NFL's medical director Kevin Byard Jersey , believes all the data helped construct a comprehensive story that required immediate action."Everything we saw said we must act on this," Sills says of the injury rate for helmet-first hits. "There was a sense of urgency when the data was so compelling to do something now on this."THE COACHESFor decades, the head was taught to be part of the tackling process. That has changed 180 degrees 鈥?at least in the NFL 鈥?as the consequences of that technique became so clearly grim and far-reaching.NFL coaches 鈥?yes, even those who don't win with regularity 鈥?are the elite of the profession. Still, changing a culture that was part of football for so long, and might still be at lower levels of the sport, is challenging.Throw in that some coaches were caught by surprise by the wide-ranging change, and others aren't truly certain when flags will fly, and there's concern on every NFL sideline.New Titans coach Mike Vrabel, a Super Bowl-winning linebacker, narrated a league-distributed video on tackles that are kosher and which are outlawed. Yet his team was among the most penalized early in the preseason."It's frustrating because I'm not doing a good enough job explaining to them what they're calling," Vrabel said during training camp. "I think they look at me like I'm nuts when I say, 'This is what they're looking for. This is what they're calling.'"We just really have to start watching. The helmet thing extends drives. Penalties are going to lead to scoring opportunities; 15 yards is an explosive gain. ... To continue to give them the 15-yard penalties is frustrating because I have to do a better job of making sure these guys aren't using the top of the helmet."Another worry among coaches is whether the calls on offensive players will be equitable to those on defenders. Former Cardinals coach Bruce Arians, now a CBS analyst, recalled seeing three flags thrown on the defense for helmet-first hits when it was obvious to him that the ball carrier initiated the contact."It's a great rule," he says. "They just have to not over-officiate it. They shouldn't use the posture of getting in a protective position by the running back before he gets tackled, yet he's the one making contact with the helmet."THE PLAYERSUltimately, as anyone involved in any sport will say, the players have to make the plays. And make sure they are permissible plays. It's not going to be easy at first. According to 49ers cornerback Richard Sherman, it won't be easy ever.Or fair."It's an idiotic rule, so there's no need to go down that road," Sherman says. "There's no way you can tackle and play football. I could tackle like that if I was standing still, got on my knees, no one was moving and I was tackling bags or something. But to ask you to do that at full speed?"Adds Texans safety Tyrann Mathieu: "It's going to be extremely difficult. Obviously, guys are trying to take the initiative to really go about it the right way, but sometimes it's like, what do you expect a guy to do? Hopefully, we'll get it corrected and like I said, hopefully it doesn't take too much money from the guys."I just don't know when it's a foul, when it's clean. I have no idea." Everything you need to know about the unofficial first scouting event of the season..."The 2019 East-West Shrine Game kicks off on Saturday afternoon from St. Petersburg, Florida.Created in 1925, the East-West Shrine Game was the nation’s first college all-star football game, committed to supporting Shriners Hospitals for Children.Today, it is gives lesser-known NFL prospects another chance to showcase their skills before the testing and interviewing portion of scouting season begins. Some interesting facts about the Shrine Game courtesy of The Draft Network’s Joe Marino:TV InfoWhen: Saturday, January 19, 2019Game start: 3pm ESTBroadcast: NFL NetworkVenue: Tropicana Field, St. Petersburg, FloridaJon Robinson and College All-Star GamesThe college all-star games have proven to be significant scouting events for the Titans the last few years. You can check out the full East Roster here, and the full West Roster here.A few players I’ll be watching closely this week based on the Titans’ needs include...DaMarkus Lodge, WR, Ole Miss — The 6-2 Rebel receiver is one of the most highly-touted players in this year’s Shrine Game, and he’s currently projected as a second- or third- round pick. His contested catch skills and deep speed stand out on tape, as well as his ability to beat press coverage. Lodge is also an excellent blocker but sometimes struggles with concentration drops. Still, his downfield playmaking abilities make him a tantalizing prospect and a guy I would love to see in two-tone blue. Here, Lodge gets a clean release off the line and then works upfield to gain outside leverage. He then adjusts to an underthrown ball, times his inside-arm chop perfectly to shed the defender’s hands and high points the football, eventually securing it away from the ground and the defender for a huge play.Tyler Jones, OL, NC State — A fifth-year (redshirt) senior, Jones started at left tackle for the Wolfpack but enters the Shrine game as an offensive guard. One common theme amongst many of Jon Robinson’s draft picks is a propensity to receive collegiate awards and honors, and Jones was named to the official All-ACC 1st Team, AP’s All-ACC 1st Team, and ProFootballFocus’s All-ACC 2nd Team, and he allowed just one sack in 2018. Jones also earned 1st-Team honors from the ACSMA last season as a Junior and could be in play for the Titans on day three of the draft.Daniel Wise, DT, Kansas — Brother of Patriots’ defender Deatrich Wise, the redshirt senior Daniel Wise is a versatile interior defender from Kansas. Wise was an official 2018 All-Big 12 First Team selection, and as a defensive tackle, he led the Jayhawks in both TFL and sacks with 12.5 and five, respectively. Over the past two seasons, he has 28 TFL (43 total in his career). He projects as a 3-4 DE or 4-3 DT at the next level, and Tony Pauline has pegged him as a possible day-two pick. He could make for an interesting interior mate alongside Jurrell Casey.Later on Saturday, the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl will take place at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California, kicking off at 5pm EST, and will be televised on FS1. This game is not as well known as the Shrine Game but will showcase another group of players trying to impress NFL scouts. While the Shrine Game may have a handful of day two prospects, keep in mind the majority of the players in that and the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl will be day three picks or wind up as UDFAs.The Reese’s Senior Bowl will take place the following Saturday in Mobile, Alabama, with a full week of scouted practices leading up to that game, as well. We’ll have Shrine Game coverage this weekend and lots more to come in preparation for the 2019 NFL Draft in April.

This guy just can’t get enough of himself."Practice makes perfect Beau Allen Jersey , right?Well, not if you’re Desean Jackson. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ p r i z e d diva receiver put himself in the spotlight again this past Wednesday after he made some very interesting comments on The Simms and Lefkoe podcast. Jackson was in Atlanta with former NFL quarterback Michael Vick. After former Bucs quarterback Chris Simms inflated Jackson’s head to the size of the moon (even though you can make the argument it was already that big), Jackson gave - or inadvertently gave - some insight as to why he never clicked with Jameis Winston downfield. Here is a transcript of the entire exchange, beginning with Simms’s comments.Jackson’s response was, well, exactly what you would expect from the 11-year veteran. Good Lord. Where do we even begin?First off, shame on Simms for lobbing such a softball question and for completely foregoing the fact that yes, while Jackson has had a stellar career, he has been a complete headache for every team he has played for. It’s not like Jackson is out here curing cancer. Sure, he has some decent charities outside of the confines of One Buc Place, but this dude isn’t a prized citizen to any extent. For all of the football knowledge that Simms possesses, he should know this, but hey, I guess you gotta keep it friendly on Radio Row. Second, we all knew about this guy’s ego, but his absolute lack of self-awareness and accountability is second-to-none. All year long - outside of the first two games - he bitched about his role in the offense and how he didn’t click with Winston. He made the case for Ryan Fitzpatrick to continue to be the starter, just so his own stats could be bolstered. Hey, Desean, here’s a thought: How in the f%!$ to do you expect to develop chemistry with your quarterback if you don’t practice? You are one of the fastest players to ever play in the NFL, most quarterbacks will have to develop some type of rhythm with you in order to create chemistry. There is no doubt that the uber-talented players get away with more in the NFL, but to sit there and expect entitlement - especially when none of your teams have won a playoff game since 2008 - is absurd and ridiculous. That’s right, Jackson’s first year in the league saw him play in three postseason games. The Philadelphia Eagles won two of the three, losing to the Arizona Cardinals in the NFC Championship game. Jackson’s teams are 0-5 in the playoffs after winning the first two games. He has 15 receptions for 223 yards and two touchdowns in that span. He had five receptions for 115 yards in the two wins. He is Antonio Brown, he’s just missing Brown’s name, skills, accolades - everything that makes him the top receiver in the league. Jackson finished fourth on the Bucs in 2018 when it came to yards and receptions. Adam Humphries, the team’s fourth receiver http://www.buccaneerslockerroom.com/authentic-ronde-barber-jersey , finished with better stats in every category outside of yards per reception. And all of this came with a $11 million cap hit. It doesn’t get much better in 2019, either. Jackson carries a $10 million cap hit in 2019 and the Bucs are one of the more cap-strapped teams in the league. So, you have a receiver who doesn’t like to practice, loves to bitch and moan, and is expensive. Three strikes and your out, bud. But the worst part about all of this is the fact that the Bucs may need Jackson in 2019. Bruce Arians runs a vertical offense and he will need someone who can stretch the field. Fortunately, former Arians’ understudy and speedster John Brown will be a free agent this year, so he could replace Jackson at a cheaper - both financially and headache-wise - rate. Jackson still thinks he is the same guy from 2008-2013 and his comments reflect that thought. He’s living in the past while we are all looking toward the future. Hopefully that future won’t include Jackson’s $10 million salary and shitty attitude. I’ll pay for the moving expenses, Tampa Bay. Get this guy the hell out of here. (h/t Joe Bucs Fan) Everyone can generally agree that Tampa Bay got dealt a tough hand when the schedules for the 2019 season came out last week. On Tuesday, Bucs quarterback Jameis Winston and head coach Bruce Arians commented on it."When the 2019 schedule game out last week, one daunting stretch on the Buccaneers’ slate stood out to everyone. It wasn’t just talked about around Tampa Bay. It’s made national headlines.Of course it did. Have you seen this schedule? After a home game against the New York Giants on Sept. 22, the Bucs won’t play another game at Raymond James Stadium until Nov. 10, when they host the Arizona Cardinals. That’s a span of six weeks between home games. Tampa Bay goes to Los Angeles and then New Orleans, which is a brutal two-game stretch to begin with. But it gets worse??? After that trip to face the Saints, the Bucs head to London for a “home” game with the Panthers. After a bye, the team then heads to Tennessee before wrapping up the ludicrous stretch in Seattle. For those counting at home, that’s two West Coast trips and a visit to London within a six-week period. Even the NFL’s schedule-maker said he would like a do-over when it comes to what was put in place for the Bucs. The latest to weigh in on this scheduling disaster are some of the men who will actually be facing the stretch this fall. After the first day of voluntary mini camp on Tuesday, Bucs quarterback Jameis Winston, in typical Jameis Winston fashion, downplayed the fact that the team will be away from its home stadium for six consecutive weeks:New head coach Bruce Arians, on the other hand, had a little bit more of a reaction to the schedule:Just last year, Tampa Bay opened the season with an extremely tough stretch, opening with a game in New Orleans before coming home for games against Philadelphia and Pittsburgh. The Bucs played all of those games without Winston and got out to a 2-1 start. Of course, that was just a tough three weeks in terms of opponents. There were two home games in that stretch. This year’s schedule is a whole new level of getting the short end of the stick. But there’s nothing to be done at this point. As Coach Arians said, the Bucs will just have to “play ‘em when they’re scheduled.”

Jerick McKinnon surgery successful http://www.49erslockerroom.com/authentic-laken-tomlinson-jersey , ACL tear was ‘pretty clean’ San Francisco 49ers running back Jerick McKinnon had his ACL surgery on Wednesday, and announced on Twitter that his return process has begun. On Friday, we got an update on the situation from Matt Maiocco. The tear was apparently “pretty clean.”This is of note because it means he is looking at the most traditional of ACL rehabs. He did not tear any other ligaments, and there are no other issues for the time being. Things could pop up in his subsequent rehab, but for the time being, he’s off to the proverbial races with his rehab. When the 49ers return for the offseason workout program next April, I’m guessing we won’t see a whole lot of McKinnon on the field — even come June for the mandatory minicamp. He’s got the time to be ready in time for training camp, but we’ll wait for updates in the coming months. 49ers-Raiders final scoreIt was a beatdown of epic proportions for the 49ers! Nick Mullens impressed as San Francisco beat Oakland 34-3. Mullens completed 16 of 22 passes for 262 yards and three touchdowns. Cassius Marsh led the defense with 2.5 sacks as the unit had seven sacks on the evening. Raheem Mostert suffered what looked like a broken arm, so that is one drawback, but everything else came up aces for the 49ers.The Raiders have given upThe 49ers have taken a 31-3 lead following Raheem Mostert ran 51 yards for his first career rushing touchdown. He got a great block by Mike McGlinchey, but it seemed like the Raiders were giving an awful effort on the play. This game is an absolute boat-race.Take a bow, George KittleThe 49ers have taken a 24-3 lead as they are now boat-racing the Raiders. Mullens faced a 2nd and 12, but made an amazing throw over the middle to tight end George Kittle, who made a spectacular one-handed catch. He turned it into a 71-yard gain. Two plays later, Mullens rolled left and found Kittle for a five-yard touchdown reception. Here’s the big play that set up the touchdown. And another one!The 49ers have jumped out to a 14-3 lead as Nick Mullens found Kendrick Bourne for a 4-yard touchdown pass. Mullens is now 9/11 for 103 yards and two touchdowns. It’s hard not to like how things have gone thus far.Nick Mullens with his first career touchdownThe 49ers quickly moved down the field and have taken a 7-0 lead after Nick Mullens found Pierre Gar莽on for a 24-yard catch and run score. Mullens was 3/3 for 41 yards on the drive, and the 49ers got 32 rushing yards from Matt Breida and Raheem Mostert. Nice little start in Mullens’ first career start!Raiders score firstThe Raiders got on the board with a 37-yard field goal. Oakland was moving the ball with ease early in the drive. Derek Carr was 5/5 for for 52 yards to get the Raiders down to the 49ers 13 yard line. However, a holding penalty pushed them back and they never recovered. The Raiders lead 3-0.InactivesThe 49ers have benched Trent Taylor for Week 9. He was not on the injury report this week, but is inactive for TNF. He has struggled to get going, so we’ll see what kind of long-term implications this has, if any.49ers inactives: S Jaquiski Tartt, S Antone Exum, LB Reuben Foster, OL Erik Magnuson, DT Jullian Taylor, OT Shon Coleman, WR Trent TaylorRaiders inactives: WR Marcell Ateman, LB Shilique Calhoun, OT T.J. Clemmings, LB James Cowser, OL Denver Kirkland, CB Rashaan Melvin, OT Justin MurrayQuarterback UpdateThe 49ers have announced Nick Mullens as the starter. C.J. Beathard will back him up. This is going to be awful or awesome!49ers-Raiders previewThe San Francisco 49ers suffered an ugly loss on Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals, but there’s no time to mope about it as they are back on prime time for Thursday Night Football against the Oakland Raiders. The Raiders have their own issues, namely head coach John Gruden having a fire sale and running all the talent out of town. That said, the Raiders still can provide a challenge for the level the 49ers at, and this still has potential to get ugly. This will be the yearly Thursday Night Football game kicking off at 5:20 PM. The game will air on NFL Network. Joe Buck and Troy Aikman will be calling the game. Erin Andrews will be on the sidelines. This is a game the normal football fan doesn’t want to see. In fact, 49ers fans might not want to see this one either. This is two of the bottom level teams facing off on primetime. The 49ers are without their starting quarterback and the Raiders are without their logic given all the moves they’ve made. Given the short week http://www.49erslockerroom.com/authentic-y.a.-tittle-jersey , there’s not much to really evaluate here. The 49ers are not mathematically eliminated from playoff contention, but they are pretty much done. That means the incentive to put players’ bodies on the line for a playoff push might not exist tonight. While the 49ers want a win, they are decimated with injuries and the short week results in a different type of football than most are used to. There’s not much to evaluate with the younger players in this game either given the short week. For Thursday, the 49ers will be without safeties Jaquiski Tartt (shoulder) and Antone Exum (concussion). Linebacker Reuben Foster (shoulder) is also out. Quarterback C.J. Beathard (hand) is becoming a gametime decision. The Raiders will be without tackle T.J. Clemmings (knee).Nuts and boltsLocation: Levi’s Stadium, Santa Clara CaliforniaGame time: Thursday, November 1st, 5:20 P.M. Fast starts aren’t something the Titans typically do Logan Ryan Jersey , but that’s exactly what they did on Sunday against the Patriots. Darius Jennings got the ball rolling with a near 60 yard return, setting the Titans up with a golden opportunity to take control of this game early. Marcus Mariota did just that, starting hot and finding Corey Davis to move the sticks. Mariota found Jonnu Smith for the score, getting Tennessee out front with a 7-0 lead. The Patriots answered with a field goal, but Marcus Mariota answered that with six more points. It was a rainbow of a throw to Corey Davis, who beat Stephon Gilmore on a corner route to haul in the touchdown. Just like that, it was a 17-3 lead for the Titans. Finally, Tom Brady and the Patriots answered. New England opened the second quarter with a James Develin touchdown to narrow the Titans’ lead to seven. It felt like momentum was shifting, but Dean Pees’ defense stood tall and forced a punt. Marcus Mariota found Jonnu Smith and Corey Davis on the following drive, getting the Titans in position to score once again. Derrick Henry was able to punch it in on the goal line to get the Titans’ lead back to 14. Brady was unable to answer before half, keeping Tennessee’s lead at 24-10 at halftime. The Titans added a field goal in the third quarter and kept the Patriots off the board. They took that 17 point lead into the fourth quarter.Brady and Belichick struggled to get anything going offensively, and opted to go for it on fourth down to open the first quarter. The Titans stood tall once again, getting the ball back with a 17 point advantage. Tennessee began to bleed the clock in the fourth quarter. With under ten minutes to play, the Titans began their drive to put this one away. Derrick Henry took a snap out of the wildcat formation from the ten, punching it in for another Titans’ score. That extended Tennessee’s lead to 34-10, essentially putting this one on ice. With this unexpected result, the Titans are now in the thick of the division and wildcard race. After a 3-4 start Jayon Brown Jersey , the Titans now sit at 5-4. The schedule softens up after this one considerably, with the Colts, Texans, Jets and Jaguars up next. If the Titans are going to make a playoff push, the time is now.Sharif Finch put on a pass rushing clinic in the middle of the Titans-Packers preseason game Harold Landry (deservedly) is getting all the hype, but I couldn’t help but notice another rookie pass rusher on Thursday night. Sharif Finch’s college career at Temple started as a 218 pound freshman linebacker. Four years, a position change, and multiple knee injuries later, he was a 6’-4”, 251 pound edge rusher hoping to finally break out. His final year for the Owls saw him rack up 8.5 sacks and 13.5 tackles for loss while finally staying off the trainer’s table. Not only were the numbers good, but the tape shows a guy that had developed an impressive array of pass rush moves. He added to that a pro day where he put up an impressive 4.65-second 40 and a 7.00-second 3-cone time, but that still wasn’t enough to get drafted. He landed in Tennessee quickly after the draft as an undrafted free agent and was given the largest signing bonus of any UDFA the Titans signed. Finch made some noise in camp early before being sidelined briefly with a — you guessed it — undisclosed injury for a few days. However, he returned in time to play, and play well, in Green Bay. The sack that he picked up during the Packers first drive of the second half was the highlight, but after further review, Finch’s impact went much further than that. Check out this sequence of pass rushes from Finch during the last drive of the first half. Finch is #56 Tajae Sharpe Jersey , lined up across from Green Bay’s right tackle — and former Titan — Byron Bell. He had just entered the game to replace the injured Gimel President. Just a couple plays after entering the game, Finch buzzes around the edge with a dip and bend move — AKA “The Harold Landry” — and flushes Packers QB DeShone Kizer out of the pocket disrupting the play. Finch doesn’t quite have the flexibility of Landry — few do as Landry literally drags his inside hand over the top of the turf when he bends — but this is a pretty effective rush from Finch just plays after entering the game.NFL Game PassAfter setting Bell up by flashing the speed move around the edge, Finch comes back with an inside counter on the very next snap and catches his opponent over-setting. Kizer gets a quick pass away, but Finch is right there and finishes with a hit on Kizer. Also make sure you check out Julius Warmsley’s rush here right next to Finch. There is a reason he’s getting camp buzz.NFL Game PassAfter punishing Bell for over-setting against the speed, Finch comes back with the speed on the very next play. This time going with a club-rip combo to soften the edge against Bell and turn the corner. Again, Kizer gets the ball away, but you can see by his awkward follow through that he is affected by Finch’s rush. NFL Game PassJust a few plays later, Finch gives us the true masterpiece of this series. He catches Bell setting to far outside again and hits him with the “hump move” as made famous by Reggie White, using his inside arm to essentially toss his opponent out of the way. It takes a pretty special level of strength to be able to execute this against an NFL offensive lineman (even Byron Bell). It’s rare to see this pulled off in a game, but Finch does and finishes again in Kizer’s face as he releases.NFL Game PassA couple snaps later, Finch shows yet another pass rush move as he hits Bell with an inside spin and again winds up in Kizer’s face. NFL Game PassOn the next snap — this is all still from the same drive — Finch uses yet another move as he goes with a straight bull rush and walks Bell back in to Kizer’s feet, flushes the quarterback from the pocket, and draws a holding penalty as Bell tries to keep him from finishing the job. NFL Game PassThe first six plays above were all from the same drive at the end of the first half. Unfortunately, the coverage let Finch down a little bit during that sequence, otherwise he could have had multiple sacks there. However, Finch was rewarded during the first drive of the second half. This time Finch knifes inside of the tight end’s block on a play action pass and is there for the sack — despite getting held — when Brynden Trawick’s blitz forces Kizer to step up in the pocketNFL Game PassFinch finished his day later in that drive with one last pressure, chopping and then bending the edge against another tackle. This time the coverage forces Kizer off his first and second reads and allows Finch to close Quinton Spain Jersey , nearly getting the sack and forcing a dangerous in to the middle of the field. NFL Game PassFrom here, the Titans mostly stuck with Josh Carraway and Tobenna Okeke as the edge rushers in mop up duty. President’s unfortunate injury means that Finch now slots in as the 5th edge rusher behind Brian Orakpo, Derrick Morgan, Harold Landry, and Aaron Wallace based on the current rotations. If he’s able to hold on to that spot against Carraway, Okeke, and new additions Tony Washington and Davond Dade, that should be good enough to make the 53-man roster.I posted some of these clips on Twitter Saturday night as I was going through the tape and Finch had a pretty funny response.Obviously, Byron Bell isn’t going to be mistaken for a starting level NFL tackle these days, but the variety of pass rush moves that Finch used effectively in a game situation — and the way he set them up off each other — was very impressive. I’ll be interested to see if he gets some reps higher in the rotation to see what he can do against tougher competition. As I mentioned above, Finch has looked good in camp practices as well, so this isn’t just a one night hot streak. His position coach, Shane Bowen, has certainly taken notice. If Finch is able to continue to play at or near this level against better players, the Titans could have a real gem on their hands. Keep an eye on 56 on Saturday night.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers finished the 2018 season as the league’s 28th ranked team Chris Godwin Jersey , or fifth-worst. However, an off-season already filled with a lot of significant changes, and more to come, have this team on the verge of becoming everyone’s pre-season sleeper.Everyone, that is, except for ESPN apparently. In releasing their self-proclaimed ‘way-too-early’ power rankings of NFL teams ahead of the 2019 league year, the network showed their hand and told every franchise exactly what they think of them. For the Bucs Vernon Hargreaves Jersey , this means being labeled as 24th out of a possible 32 franchises. But, wait a minute, isn’t that higher than they finished in 2018? Yes. Yes it is. And it’s still too low. Here’s why. It’s well documented that the Buccaneers had the most potent passing attack in the NFL between the goal lines. Getting the ball across the goal line was another matter. Bringing in new head coach and quarterback whisperer Bruce Arians will help fix that issue. This fact alone should bump the team up about five spots in the power rankings.Add to it the addition of Todd Bowles as defensive coordinator and the promise of a coaching staff who is more interested in making things work for their players rather than making their players work for them, and this is a team who should be Top-20.It might just be me, but the teams currently ranked behind the Buccaneers are...25. Washington Redskins26. Jacksonville Jaguars27. Detroit Lions28. Cincinnati Bengals29. Buffalo Bills30. New York Jets31. Oakland Raiders32. Arizona Cardinals...and they all belong behind the Bucs. No arguments there. Not from me, anyway. However, there are some teams ranked ahead of the Bucs which I don’t feel belong there.Such as the Miami Dolphins Donovan Smith Jersey , who not only fired their head coach but have no idea what they’re doing at the quarterback position.I don’t know if anyone has ever muttered the words that quarterback questions are the key to successful NFL teams, but if they have I’ve never heard them. Add to it a questionable hire at the head coaching position, and the franchise is definitely trending downward as far as league comparisons are concerned. The New York Giants are also ranked ahead of the Buccaneers, and again, what is happening at the quarterback position combined with an underperforming defense. Not good.I may be looking at this from a holistic stand-point while the ESPN writers who combined on this look at it from a final finish point of view. The Atlanta Falcons rank 18th on the back of credit given due to returning players from injury in 2019. Tampa Bay had plenty of those as well.We could go on and on about this, and maybe we will on the Locked on Bucs podcast sometime next week. But in the meantime, check out the rankings for yourself and let us know where you think the 2019 Tampa Bay Buccaneers should sit in this ‘way-too-early’ power rankings. Zack Martin returned to practice for the first time since leaving the Eagles game in Week 14 after 65 of 99 plays Ali Marpet Jersey , having re-injured his sprained MCL.The All-Pro right guard had a limited practice Thursday.Starting left guard Xavier Su'a-Filo returned to full participation Thursday as his left eye continues to heal. Su’a-Filo’s eye swelled shut for 24 hours after it was poked during Sunday’s game against the Colts.Receiver Cole Beasley (foot) also returned to a full practice after being limited Wednesday.Cornerback Anthony Brown, who had a full practice Wednesday with a hand injury, had a new injury added to the report. He was limited with a back injury.Otherwise, the Cowboys’ injury report was the same as Wednesday.Receiver Tavon Austin (groin) and linebacker Sean Lee (hamstring) were limited. Defensive lineman David Irving (ankle) and tight end Geoff Swaim (wrist) sat out. Left tackle Tyron Smith (neck) was a full participant.

Good morning folks Tevin Coleman Jersey , and a happy Sunday to you. Today marks the second of three consecutive Sundays during which the 49ers will not play, as they’ll face the New York Giants on Monday night. Despite the extended break since the Raiders game on Thursday night (a week and a half ago), the team has had difficulty recuperating, and will be missing several key players - again - come Monday night. Although he was active, and productive, during week 9, Pierre Garcon has been ruled out for tomorrow’s game. He’s currently dealing with a knee injury which has kept him off the field for multiple games this season. However, the injury report does not make mention of his shoulder injury, which is certainly welcome news. As the 49ers enter their bye week after MNF, hope springs eternal that Garcon will heal up with the extra rest, and come back ready to play during week 12. The injury report is rounded out with news that Reuben Foster (hamstring) and Jaquiski Tartt (shoulder) will both miss their second consecutive games. Considering the frequency and impact of injuries that the 49ers have dealt with this season, I’d be inclined to support benching presumed starters if they’re borderline healthy - with no playoff contention to worry about, protecting their health from aggravation is definitely the smart move. As with Garcon, hopefully these two will take advantage of the upcoming bye week to heal up.The 49ers face a struggling Giants squad Dante Pettis Jersey , who, despite their pitiful record, boast a fair amount of top-end offensive talent. Jaquiski Tartt and Reuben Foster will be replaced by Tyvis Powell and Malcolm Smith, respectively, who will surely have their hands full dealing with the dynamic play of RB Saquon Barkley & all-world WR Odell Beckham Jr. Pierre Garcon’s snaps will be replaced by some permutation of rookie Dante Pettis and Kendrick Bourne, and there’s a high likelihood that Trent Taylor will finally find himself back in the mix.Week 10 preview | Garcia, 4th & 9Week 10 injury report | Chan, NBC Sports Bay Area | Biderman, Sac BeeKyle Shanahan urges defense to stay relentless | Chan, NBC Sports Bay AreaNo decision yet on moving game due to fire smoke | Chan, NBC Sports Bay AreaKyle Shanahan’s remarks on Matt Breida | Chan, NBC Sports Bay Area Back in October, Arizona Cardinals cornerback Patrick Peterson asked for a trade before the NFL trade deadline. Nothing ever came of the request, but it was an issue the Cardinals would have to address at some point. He was never going to end up with the San Francisco 49ers Nick Mullens Jersey , but it was a situation that would be worth following. We can officially call an end to PP watch. On Wednesday at the Waste Management Open Celebrity Pro-Am in Scottsdale, Arizona, Peterson had a great shot on the 16th hole, and shortly after rescinded his trade request.I don’t recall ever seeing this kind of thing, but given that the tournament was taking place near Phoenix, this is not entirely shocking. And honestly, it’s kind of a cool way to approach it. I would prefer drama in the desert, but if not, this is one way to clear things up.The Cardinals have taken care of some notable business thus far this offseason. Along with Peterson rescinding his trade request, they got word that Larry Fitzgerald will be back for another year, and of course they hired Kliff Kingsbury to take their offense to a new level. They have plenty more work to do, but they should be improved from last season.

When he came out of Alabama Tom Johnson Jersey , Jarran Reed was regarded as a run-stopping defensive tackle. That was it.Anything else he provided for the Seattle Seahawks was going to be extra."He was a real dedicated run defender coming out. We did not see him specialize in rushing the passer. He has just emerged through his focus and dedication and hard work he has become a complete player," Seattle coach Pete Carroll said.On a defensive line where pass rush was a major question entering the season, Seattle has gotten an unexpected boost from its starting defensive tackle. Reed is second on the team with 6陆 sacks entering Monday night's game against Minnesota. But it's more than just sacks where Reed has provided help to Seattle's pass rush. Reed leads Seattle in quarterback hits with 17 and had six last week against San Francisco to go along with one sack.Even when he's not taking the quarterback down, Reed is helping provide the kind of pressure quarterback pressure Seattle's defense needs."I think he expects to get to the quarterback more than he used to and he wanted to develop his pass rush game," Carroll said. "He worked hard at it and I think his mentality to rush the passer is just the best it's been."Reed agreed with Carroll's assessment. Reed said he decided this offseason he would focus on his pass rushing, perhaps realizing the impact he could provide to Seattle's defense if he could get pressure from the interior. With Michael Bennett and Cliff Avril gone, Seattle lost its two top pass rushers. Frank Clark was the only returning defensive lineman with a track record of having success getting to the quarterback. It's why the defensive line 鈥?and the pass rush specifically 鈥?was such a major question for the Seahawks entering the season.Reed's success has alleviated some of those concerns. He had three total sacks in his career entering the season."The major emphasis last offseason was to get better at my all-around game, to be more reliable, to be on the field more for the team," Reed said.Reed said most of his offseason work was done in basic places. He would go to parks or football fields around Atlanta to practice his skills and would work out at a local gym.If there was a sand volleyball court available, he would go there to train. He chose not to go to any of the high-end training facilities for his offseason work, with the exception of spending some time back on campus at Alabama."I don't go to all the fancy little other things everybody goes and spends all that money on. I don't do that," Reed said. "I just use what the earth has. If it has some grass I can run on that. If it has sand, I can run on that. I lift at a regular gym, for real."Reed's challenge this week will be disrupting Minnesota's passing game. The Vikings have the seventh-best pass offense in the league in yards per game, but use a lot of short passes to make their offense work. That may not allow the same opportunities for Reed to get to the quarterback as a week ago."He was a great run defender and he came in here and was able to do that, but I think he's just expanded the scope of his game and it's obvious," Carroll said. "He's been a nice factor." career will resume Corey Davis Jersey , the Dallas Cowboys center is just relieved that he found out what was wrong when he was diagnosed with a nerve disorder. The four-time Pro Bowler doesn't want to say that his presence on the active roster, rather than injured reserve, means he could come back sooner than the eight weeks required by an IR designation.Frederick is getting treated for Guillain-Barre syndrome, an auto-immune disease that attacks nerves and leads to weakness in various parts of the body."I wish I was lying to you by telling you that," Frederick said Thursday in his first meeting with reporters since the diagnosis. "I have some of the best doctors in the business working on this and they can't even begin to predict how this is going to work. It really is a week-by-week thing."Frederick's streak of starting all 83 games, including three playoff games, in his five seasons with the Cowboys will end Sunday. Dallas plays at Carolina. The 27-year-old reiterated that his chances of a quick recovery improved when the disease was caught early. Frederick was diagnosed about 2陆 weeks ago and immediately underwent treatment. The 2016 All-Pro said doctors believe he has a type of Guillain-Barre that allows for complete recovery and a slightly increased risk of getting the disease again. With doctors catching the condition early, Frederick said he is likely to avoid extreme symptoms such as temporary paralysis and difficulties with breathing and body control.Frederick said he experienced numbness in both feet and hands and in one of his arms. He still says he's dealing with numbness in both arms."I was very relieved to finally have an idea of what it was that was going on, because I was having some weird symptoms," Frederick said. "I got treatment and things started to improve. That helped relieve some of that uneasiness there."It's hard looking forward not knowing what's coming as far as a recovery standpoint, when I can come back. But knowing that I will get back to 100 percent at some point is certainly relieving."Frederick said he has been cleared for some work in the weight room and has been "retraining the body to make sure I can do the movements that I previously have been able to do."He has also stayed around his teammates, traveling to the final preseason game in Houston and planning to do the same for the opener."His involvement with our team is a reflection on the kind of guy he is," coach Jason Garrett said. "He's part of the meetings. He's out there at the walkthroughs. He's doing everything he can to get himself back, but he's really contributing to our team as he's in that process."Frederick, who has a wife and two children, says he can handle many of the daily functions in life. Blocking 300-pound defensive linemen is another matter. And that's where his case differs from rehabbing a more traditional football injury."When you're injured, you try and get past it," he said. "This is something I can't just will my way through. It's a matter of the nerves not conducting properly and not working correctly. It's going to require some patience."Frederick first felt sensations that football players associate with neck injuries, or stingers, while the Cowboys were at training camp in California.A doctor in the Los Angeles area cleared him of neck issues, and Frederick told reporters it looked like he would be OK. As the feelings persisted and his neck still checked out fine structurally, Frederick wondered what else could be wrong. Now that he has the answer, he waits. And six-year veteran Joe Looney will be the first person other than Frederick to start at center for the Cowboys since the 2012 finale."He's very upbeat and positive," offensive coordinator Scott Linehan said. "You can tell he feels good about his road to recovery. In his role now Kevin Byard Jersey , it's helping getting Joe ready and getting those O-linemen tuned in."NOTES: Backup G Parker Ehinger, recently acquired from Kansas City in a trade, injured a knee and couldn't finish practice Wednesday. The Cowboys worked out free agent Xavier Su'a-Filo, a former starter in Houston. ... CB Chidobe Awuzie was limited for the second straight day because of tightness in his back.Titans Training Camp Day 6 Notes After a day off, the Titans were back on the practice field Wednesday. They were in shorts and shells, so it wasn’t a full padded practice, but there was some physical hitting nonetheless. 3rd Star: Derrick HenryDerrick Henry and Dion Lewis both had good days, but Henry really stood out. He opened the team period with a really nice windback run off a zone look. That’s the second time I’ve seen that run open up big during practice and again Henry hit it hard and got in to the second level. Henry also stood out in ways that were encouraging for his overall development as a back. Possibly the hardest hit of practice was Henry stepping in to pick up a blitzing Jayon Brown in pass protection. Henry also has been better than most would anticipate as a pass catcher. The Titans offense has spent a lot of time flexing backs out wide and letting them run routes as a receiver. Henry will never have the quicks of a guy like Dion Lewis, but he’s quite capable of doing some damage as a receiver and he gives Mariota a big target on slants. It was a good all-around day for the Titans young starting running back.2nd Star: Adoree JacksonWhile Malcolm Butler has grabbed the headlines with his interceptions in camp and feisty attitude, Jackson is quietly playing like a budding star. Today Jackson starred, making some great pass breakups. First he got Tajae Sharpe with his physicality on a hitch route, then he used his hops to sky with Corey Davis and punch the ball free on a fade route near the goal line. Jackson appears to be more physical at the line of scrimmage this year and has completely erased receivers at times during camp. 1st Star: Harold LandryAs Mo noted earlier this week, Landry has been getting a lot of extra reps with Brian Orakpo out with a shoulder injury. He took advantage of those reps today as he was a force on the edge against the Titans first team offensive line. Landry got sacks on back to back snaps at one point during the red zone period at the end of practice. Once winning with speed around the edge and then teaming up with Derrick Morgan to run a game on the right side of the Titans line with both rushers ending up in Mariota’s lap. Landry’s strength setting the edge has been good as well. It’s clear that he’s going to get a lot of snaps in this defense, even when Orakpo is healthy. Injury UpdatesJohnathan Cyprien: Cyprien went down with a left knee injury during practice today. After staying down for a moment, he was able to get up on his own and walk to the locker room without help. His frustration was clear though as he threw his helmet on the way off. Hopefully the injury is nothing serious. No news will qualify as good news here. If we get to tomorrow without an announcement about him being put on IR, that should tell us that he’ll be OK relatively soon.Malcolm Butler: Butler sat out today after appearing to turn an ankle on Monday. It didn’t appear to be anything serious at the time as he got tape and tried to go back in, but it appears the team is being extra cautious with all injuries.Rishard Matthews: Matthews got some good news today as Jonathan Hutton of Midday 180 reported that the Titans receiver was out running routes before practice today, something we haven’t seen from him until today. Hutton said that Matthews looked good, with no noticeable limp or restrictions. Hopefully that means we see him back on the field soon. It will be interesting to see what the offense looks like with their top three receivers together on the field. It will also be interesting to see where he slots in relative to Taywan Taylor.Brian Orakpo: No update on Rak as he continues to be held out with a shoulder injury.Jonnu Smith: Smith was back in action today and looking to be 100%. Rashaan Evans: Still no Evans today. This is the most mysterious of all the injuries.Luke Stocker: Stocker was back today as well.Jack Conklin: No update here. Conklin continues to watch practice remaining on the PUP list.Phillip Supernaw: Supernaw was out at practice today walking around and watching. I don’t think I had seen him out there previously, but he remains on the PUP list with a mystery injury.Offense NotesOverall, it was a decent day for the offense. The defense probably won overall again, but it wasn’t a complete shutout like it was on Monday. Mariota was sharper today I thought. He had one bad miss on a throw to Luke Stocker in the flats, but besides that he was mostly accurate. He continues to be exceedingly accurate on deep throws down the field. Fades and posts have been on the money from Mariota consistently in camp which bodes well for the offense’s ability to create explosive plays in the passing game this season. Corey Davis was back in action after getting a planned day off on Monday. He had a couple good moments. My favorite was a post route in the red zone working against Adoree Jackson in a 7v7 period. He did a great job of leaning in to Jackson at the top of the route before breaking back inside to create separation and then went up high to catch the ball in the back of the end zone. Really good stuff there. He did have a bad drop during a team period though. He got free deep on a post route and Mariota dropped a great ball in, but he bobbled it and eventually had it knocked away by the recovering defensive back. Taywan Taylor continues to stack good days on top of each other. He simply eats defensive backs alive during 1v1 drills with his quickness in and out of breaks and has no issues beating press coverage there. He also made a great contested catch in the middle of the field on a deep dig with at two or three defenders all converging on him. I’m not 100% sure that Matthews steps right back in to the #2 spot when he comes back.Jonnu Smith’s return produced one of the offensive highlights of the day as he took a tight end screen to the house with a great run after the catch. Smith looks like a stud.Guard Cody Wichmann got some run with the first team at left guard during a team period late in the practice. He’s pretty clearly third behind Quinton Spain and Kevin Pamphile as the Titans look at their options at left guard. Dion Lewis looked excellent on some catches out of the backfield. He is just ridiculously quick. He also took a carry around the corner for what would have been a touchdown during team period. The Titans backfield is going to be really good.Anthony Firkser continued to get some reps high in the rotation despite the return of Smith and Stocker. It’s clear that he has made an impression and he continued his good play today with a couple catches. It was a rough day for the backup quarterbacks. Gabbert had a couple nice throws Marcus Mariota Jersey , but also threw a few in to coverage and missed bad on a deep ball that should have been open. Falk also badly underthrew a deep post and generally struggled to get completions. Jet sweeps showed up in the offensive repertoire today as both Michael Campanaro and Darius Jennings got handoffs during team periods. That was a big part of the Rams offense in 2017 and it looks like it might pop up in Tennessee this year as well.Defense NotesI thought LeShaun Sims had his best day of camp today as he filled in for Malcolm Butler with the top defensive unit. He had a nice breakup against Nick Williams and looked like he belonged out there. After Cyprien went down with an injury, the first safety in to the starting rotation was Demontre Hurst. He’s consistently been playing high in the safety pecking order this camp and has a real shot at making the roster.Kendrick Lewis made his best play of camp today as well when he jumped in front of a Blaine Gabbert pass to make a diving interception (though I’m not 100% sure he held on to the catch).Austin Johnson had a really nice win versus Xavier Su’a-Filo in a pass rush drill between the offensive and defensive line as he used a nice club-rip combination to quickly dispose of his blocker.Bennie Logan flashed a couple times as a run plugger in team period. He is tough to move off the spot. The defense broke out a pass rush package featuring Aaron Wallace, DaQuan Jones, Derrick Morgan, and Harold Landry from left to right at one point today and it was quite effective, resulting in a split sack between Morgan and Landry. I would imagine that group will be Orakpo, Casey, Morgan, and Landry when everyone is healthy this season and that should be a ton of fun to watch. One defensive wrinkle I noted was a set that looked like man to man pre-snap, but morphed in to a cover 2 zone with cornerback Adoree Jackson dropping in to one of the deep half positions across from Kevin Byard. It was an interesting look.Josh Carraway flashed in team period with the 2nd team, picking up a sack on a nice speed rush around the right tackle. Odds and EndsOne thing that I like about Vrabel is that he really tries to bring the energy in practice. He sprints from station to station during individual periods and at one point ran by a group of offensive lineman, showing off his speed. Despite Landry’s overall strong day today, the battle between him and the Boss Hogg Taylor Lewan have been mostly one-sided in favor of the two-time Pro Bowler. That’s no surprise, but the cool thing to see is that Lewan makes a point to give Landry tips after each rep, trying to help the rookie improve. Working against Lewan will only make Landry better when he gets to have a go at lesser tackles. The handling of injuries has been a little frustrating for fans and media so far because the team simply doesn’t give any information about what’s happening with a player, but I will say that I think the very cautious approach with shutting guys down if they’re even a little banged up is a smart one. Being as healthy as possible entering the season is crucial for any NFL team. It seems like the Titans are monitoring practice reps and the amount of work that players put in on a day to day basis and giving days off to try to manage that workload.Tim Shaw was out at practice today. It’s always great to see him and the relationship he has with this team. The Titans got some kick return work in today and had five guys working as possible returners: Adoree Jackson, Michael Campanaro, Dion Lewis, Akrum Wadley, and Rico Gafford. The Titans are back at the normal practice time on Thursday morning at Saint Thomas Sports Park. On Friday they will travel down to Williamson County to practice at Centennial High School for their second annual “Friday Night Lights” practice. Then Saturday, they’ll host an open practice at Nissan Stadium from 3:30-6:00. Lots of good opportunities to come out and get a glimpse of the team.

Extension According to Ira Kaufman of JoeBucsFan.com Carlton Davis Jersey , Bucs GM Jason Licht received a contract extenstion today that will keep him in Tampa Bay through 2019. Licht first came to Tampa Bay in 2014 after serving as vice president of player personnel for the Arizona Cardinals the year before. With the contract extenstion, he will now be at the forefront of the Bucs’ last six drafts after the event concludes in 2019. There was speculation on whether or not Licht would be extended past this season in spite of the team’s 2018 performance.  linebacker Reuben Foster on Sunday morning after Foster was arrested at the team’s hotel in Tampa on a domestic violence charge. It was a change from the way they handled Foster’s offseason domestic violence arrest. Foster stayed away from the team Tom Rathman Jersey , but remained on the roster as the process played out and rejoined the team after his accuser — the same woman from the more recent incident — recanted her allegation.49ers General Manager John Lynch said Foster “not living up to what we have communicated” was the reason for the different reaction this time and called it “disappointing.” Cornerback Richard Sherman used the same word after the game while also saying that he wishes the best for Foster and understands the team’s decision.“It’s what they had to do,” Sherman said, via NBC Bay Area. “I think the organization has handled the situation as best they could. So Patrick Willis Jersey , you understand the decision the organization has to make, after repeated offenses.”Sherman said “you never want to make excuses like that” when asked if the timing of the arrest and subsequent announcement from the team contributed to their 27-9 loss to the Buccaneers. RENTON J.R. Sweezy Jersey , Wash. (AP) —  are giving quarterback Paxton Lynch another chance in the NFL.Lynch’s signing Thursday throws the former first-round pick directly into the mix as a potential backup for Russell Wilson.Lynch was cut by the Denver Broncos before the start of the 2018 season. He started four games in his first two seasons for Denver after being the No. 26 overall pick in 2016 but was not signed by any teams in 2018 after being released.Lynch was twice beat out for the Broncos’ starting job in training camp and was deemed expendable after the acquisition of Case Keenum last offseason.Seattle has seen a revolving door of backups behind Wilson, but rarely have they been called into duty. Wilson took every snap of the 2018 season after Seattle traded a late-round draft pick to Green Bay to acquire Brett Hundley. Hundley is an unrestricted free agent. On Saturday the Seattle Seahawks will take on the Dallas Cowboys in one of the two NFC Wild Card games slated to take place this weekend, and don’t be surprised if quarterback Russell Wilson tucks the ball and runs more than he typically did this season. It was nearly a year ago that the Seahawks cleaned house on their coaching staff, replacing Darrell Bevell, Tom Cable and Kris Richard, while also jettisoning Heath Farwell and Travis Jones, and putting Carl Smith out to pasture. The team then went about systematically gutting the roster, with longtime fan favorites such as Richard Sherman, Michael Bennett and DeShawn Shead being shown the door, while others like Kam Chancellor and Cliff Avril stepped away from the playing field due to injuries. In short Duane Brown Jersey , it was a complete overhaul of the team and staff. And that led to the season that Russell Wilson had, where he set career highs in touchdown passes while tying his career low in interceptions. However, where Wilson’s game saw a big drop in the numbers was on the ground. Wilson had the fewest rushing attempts of his career in 2018, as he took to Brian Schottenheimer’s quarterback coaching and did more damage from the pocket with his arm and less with his legs. Here’s a look at how Wilson’s 2018 stacked up with the other seasons of his career in terms of rushing attempts. However, what doesn’t jump right out from those numbers is when Wilson would take off running, and whether there was any sort of pattern to it. So, for that, let’s look at his rushing attempts by game.Russell Wilson rushing attempts by gameOpponentOutcomeAttemptsYardsYard Per CarryOpponentOutcomeAttemptsYardsYard Per CarryNow, that table includes Wilson’s 16 2018 kneel downs Justin Coleman Jersey , so let’s strip those out and look at the numbers without those kneels included. When they don’t need him to make plays with his legs, such as against the Carolina Panthers and Green Bay Packers, they don’t ask him to run with the ball. When they need it - against the Los Angeles Rams, Kansas City Chiefs and Minnesota Vikings, Wilson seemed more than happy to do damage on the ground. Thus, with the Seahawks looking for their first road win of the season against a team with a winning record against the Cowboys on Saturday, and with the season over if they are unable to come up with that victory, don’t be surprised if we see Russ score his first rushing touchdown of the 2018 season.
