Fast starts aren’t something the Titans typically do Logan Ryan Jersey , but that’s exactly what they did on Sunday against the Patriots. Darius Jennings got the ball rolling with a near 60 yard return, setting the Titans up with a golden opportunity to take control of this game early. Marcus Mariota did just that, starting hot and finding Corey Davis to move the sticks. Mariota found Jonnu Smith for the score, getting Tennessee out front with a 7-0 lead. The Patriots answered with a field goal, but Marcus Mariota answered that with six more points. It was a rainbow of a throw to Corey Davis, who beat Stephon Gilmore on a corner route to haul in the touchdown. Just like that, it was a 17-3 lead for the Titans. Finally, Tom Brady and the Patriots answered. New England opened the second quarter with a James Develin touchdown to narrow the Titans’ lead to seven. It felt like momentum was shifting, but Dean Pees’ defense stood tall and forced a punt. Marcus Mariota found Jonnu Smith and Corey Davis on the following drive, getting the Titans in position to score once again. Derrick Henry was able to punch it in on the goal line to get the Titans’ lead back to 14. Brady was unable to answer before half, keeping Tennessee’s lead at 24-10 at halftime. The Titans added a field goal in the third quarter and kept the Patriots off the board. They took that 17 point lead into the fourth quarter.Brady and Belichick struggled to get anything going offensively, and opted to go for it on fourth down to open the first quarter. The Titans stood tall once again, getting the ball back with a 17 point advantage. Tennessee began to bleed the clock in the fourth quarter. With under ten minutes to play, the Titans began their drive to put this one away. Derrick Henry took a snap out of the wildcat formation from the ten, punching it in for another Titans’ score. That extended Tennessee’s lead to 34-10, essentially putting this one on ice. With this unexpected result, the Titans are now in the thick of the division and wildcard race. After a 3-4 start Jayon Brown Jersey , the Titans now sit at 5-4. The schedule softens up after this one considerably, with the Colts, Texans, Jets and Jaguars up next. If the Titans are going to make a playoff push, the time is now.Sharif Finch put on a pass rushing clinic in the middle of the Titans-Packers preseason game Harold Landry (deservedly) is getting all the hype, but I couldn’t help but notice another rookie pass rusher on Thursday night. Sharif Finch’s college career at Temple started as a 218 pound freshman linebacker. Four years, a position change, and multiple knee injuries later, he was a 6’-4”, 251 pound edge rusher hoping to finally break out. His final year for the Owls saw him rack up 8.5 sacks and 13.5 tackles for loss while finally staying off the trainer’s table. Not only were the numbers good, but the tape shows a guy that had developed an impressive array of pass rush moves. He added to that a pro day where he put up an impressive 4.65-second 40 and a 7.00-second 3-cone time, but that still wasn’t enough to get drafted. He landed in Tennessee quickly after the draft as an undrafted free agent and was given the largest signing bonus of any UDFA the Titans signed. Finch made some noise in camp early before being sidelined briefly with a — you guessed it — undisclosed injury for a few days. However, he returned in time to play, and play well, in Green Bay. The sack that he picked up during the Packers first drive of the second half was the highlight, but after further review, Finch’s impact went much further than that. Check out this sequence of pass rushes from Finch during the last drive of the first half. Finch is #56 Tajae Sharpe Jersey , lined up across from Green Bay’s right tackle — and former Titan — Byron Bell. He had just entered the game to replace the injured Gimel President. Just a couple plays after entering the game, Finch buzzes around the edge with a dip and bend move — AKA “The Harold Landry” — and flushes Packers QB DeShone Kizer out of the pocket disrupting the play. Finch doesn’t quite have the flexibility of Landry — few do as Landry literally drags his inside hand over the top of the turf when he bends — but this is a pretty effective rush from Finch just plays after entering the game.NFL Game PassAfter setting Bell up by flashing the speed move around the edge, Finch comes back with an inside counter on the very next snap and catches his opponent over-setting. Kizer gets a quick pass away, but Finch is right there and finishes with a hit on Kizer. Also make sure you check out Julius Warmsley’s rush here right next to Finch. There is a reason he’s getting camp buzz.NFL Game PassAfter punishing Bell for over-setting against the speed, Finch comes back with the speed on the very next play. This time going with a club-rip combo to soften the edge against Bell and turn the corner. Again, Kizer gets the ball away, but you can see by his awkward follow through that he is affected by Finch’s rush. NFL Game PassJust a few plays later, Finch gives us the true masterpiece of this series. He catches Bell setting to far outside again and hits him with the “hump move” as made famous by Reggie White, using his inside arm to essentially toss his opponent out of the way. It takes a pretty special level of strength to be able to execute this against an NFL offensive lineman (even Byron Bell). It’s rare to see this pulled off in a game, but Finch does and finishes again in Kizer’s face as he releases.NFL Game PassA couple snaps later, Finch shows yet another pass rush move as he hits Bell with an inside spin and again winds up in Kizer’s face. NFL Game PassOn the next snap — this is all still from the same drive — Finch uses yet another move as he goes with a straight bull rush and walks Bell back in to Kizer’s feet, flushes the quarterback from the pocket, and draws a holding penalty as Bell tries to keep him from finishing the job. NFL Game PassThe first six plays above were all from the same drive at the end of the first half. Unfortunately, the coverage let Finch down a little bit during that sequence, otherwise he could have had multiple sacks there. However, Finch was rewarded during the first drive of the second half. This time Finch knifes inside of the tight end’s block on a play action pass and is there for the sack — despite getting held — when Brynden Trawick’s blitz forces Kizer to step up in the pocketNFL Game PassFinch finished his day later in that drive with one last pressure, chopping and then bending the edge against another tackle. This time the coverage forces Kizer off his first and second reads and allows Finch to close Quinton Spain Jersey , nearly getting the sack and forcing a dangerous in to the middle of the field. NFL Game PassFrom here, the Titans mostly stuck with Josh Carraway and Tobenna Okeke as the edge rushers in mop up duty. President’s unfortunate injury means that Finch now slots in as the 5th edge rusher behind Brian Orakpo, Derrick Morgan, Harold Landry, and Aaron Wallace based on the current rotations. If he’s able to hold on to that spot against Carraway, Okeke, and new additions Tony Washington and Davond Dade, that should be good enough to make the 53-man roster.I posted some of these clips on Twitter Saturday night as I was going through the tape and Finch had a pretty funny response.Obviously, Byron Bell isn’t going to be mistaken for a starting level NFL tackle these days, but the variety of pass rush moves that Finch used effectively in a game situation — and the way he set them up off each other — was very impressive. I’ll be interested to see if he gets some reps higher in the rotation to see what he can do against tougher competition. As I mentioned above, Finch has looked good in camp practices as well, so this isn’t just a one night hot streak. His position coach, Shane Bowen, has certainly taken notice. If Finch is able to continue to play at or near this level against better players, the Titans could have a real gem on their hands. Keep an eye on 56 on Saturday night.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers finished the 2018 season as the league’s 28th ranked team Chris Godwin Jersey , or fifth-worst. However, an off-season already filled with a lot of significant changes, and more to come, have this team on the verge of becoming everyone’s pre-season sleeper.Everyone, that is, except for ESPN apparently. In releasing their self-proclaimed ‘way-too-early’ power rankings of NFL teams ahead of the 2019 league year, the network showed their hand and told every franchise exactly what they think of them. For the Bucs Vernon Hargreaves Jersey , this means being labeled as 24th out of a possible 32 franchises. But, wait a minute, isn’t that higher than they finished in 2018? Yes. Yes it is. And it’s still too low. Here’s why. It’s well documented that the Buccaneers had the most potent passing attack in the NFL between the goal lines. Getting the ball across the goal line was another matter. Bringing in new head coach and quarterback whisperer Bruce Arians will help fix that issue. This fact alone should bump the team up about five spots in the power rankings.Add to it the addition of Todd Bowles as defensive coordinator and the promise of a coaching staff who is more interested in making things work for their players rather than making their players work for them, and this is a team who should be Top-20.It might just be me, but the teams currently ranked behind the Buccaneers are...25. Washington Redskins26. Jacksonville Jaguars27. Detroit Lions28. Cincinnati Bengals29. Buffalo Bills30. New York Jets31. Oakland Raiders32. Arizona Cardinals...and they all belong behind the Bucs. No arguments there. Not from me, anyway. However, there are some teams ranked ahead of the Bucs which I don’t feel belong there.Such as the Miami Dolphins Donovan Smith Jersey , who not only fired their head coach but have no idea what they’re doing at the quarterback position.I don’t know if anyone has ever muttered the words that quarterback questions are the key to successful NFL teams, but if they have I’ve never heard them. Add to it a questionable hire at the head coaching position, and the franchise is definitely trending downward as far as league comparisons are concerned. The New York Giants are also ranked ahead of the Buccaneers, and again, what is happening at the quarterback position combined with an underperforming defense. Not good.I may be looking at this from a holistic stand-point while the ESPN writers who combined on this look at it from a final finish point of view. The Atlanta Falcons rank 18th on the back of credit given due to returning players from injury in 2019. Tampa Bay had plenty of those as well.We could go on and on about this, and maybe we will on the Locked on Bucs podcast sometime next week. But in the meantime, check out the rankings for yourself and let us know where you think the 2019 Tampa Bay Buccaneers should sit in this ‘way-too-early’ power rankings. Zack Martin returned to practice for the first time since leaving the Eagles game in Week 14 after 65 of 99 plays Ali Marpet Jersey , having re-injured his sprained MCL.The All-Pro right guard had a limited practice Thursday.Starting left guard Xavier Su'a-Filo returned to full participation Thursday as his left eye continues to heal. Su’a-Filo’s eye swelled shut for 24 hours after it was poked during Sunday’s game against the Colts.Receiver Cole Beasley (foot) also returned to a full practice after being limited Wednesday.Cornerback Anthony Brown, who had a full practice Wednesday with a hand injury, had a new injury added to the report. He was limited with a back injury.Otherwise, the Cowboys’ injury report was the same as Wednesday.Receiver Tavon Austin (groin) and linebacker Sean Lee (hamstring) were limited. Defensive lineman David Irving (ankle) and tight end Geoff Swaim (wrist) sat out. Left tackle Tyron Smith (neck) was a full participant.

Good morning folks Tevin Coleman Jersey , and a happy Sunday to you. Today marks the second of three consecutive Sundays during which the 49ers will not play, as they’ll face the New York Giants on Monday night. Despite the extended break since the Raiders game on Thursday night (a week and a half ago), the team has had difficulty recuperating, and will be missing several key players - again - come Monday night. Although he was active, and productive, during week 9, Pierre Garcon has been ruled out for tomorrow’s game. He’s currently dealing with a knee injury which has kept him off the field for multiple games this season. However, the injury report does not make mention of his shoulder injury, which is certainly welcome news. As the 49ers enter their bye week after MNF, hope springs eternal that Garcon will heal up with the extra rest, and come back ready to play during week 12. The injury report is rounded out with news that Reuben Foster (hamstring) and Jaquiski Tartt (shoulder) will both miss their second consecutive games. Considering the frequency and impact of injuries that the 49ers have dealt with this season, I’d be inclined to support benching presumed starters if they’re borderline healthy - with no playoff contention to worry about, protecting their health from aggravation is definitely the smart move. As with Garcon, hopefully these two will take advantage of the upcoming bye week to heal up.The 49ers face a struggling Giants squad Dante Pettis Jersey , who, despite their pitiful record, boast a fair amount of top-end offensive talent. Jaquiski Tartt and Reuben Foster will be replaced by Tyvis Powell and Malcolm Smith, respectively, who will surely have their hands full dealing with the dynamic play of RB Saquon Barkley & all-world WR Odell Beckham Jr. Pierre Garcon’s snaps will be replaced by some permutation of rookie Dante Pettis and Kendrick Bourne, and there’s a high likelihood that Trent Taylor will finally find himself back in the mix.Week 10 preview | Garcia, 4th & 9Week 10 injury report | Chan, NBC Sports Bay Area | Biderman, Sac BeeKyle Shanahan urges defense to stay relentless | Chan, NBC Sports Bay AreaNo decision yet on moving game due to fire smoke | Chan, NBC Sports Bay AreaKyle Shanahan’s remarks on Matt Breida | Chan, NBC Sports Bay Area Back in October, Arizona Cardinals cornerback Patrick Peterson asked for a trade before the NFL trade deadline. Nothing ever came of the request, but it was an issue the Cardinals would have to address at some point. He was never going to end up with the San Francisco 49ers Nick Mullens Jersey , but it was a situation that would be worth following. We can officially call an end to PP watch. On Wednesday at the Waste Management Open Celebrity Pro-Am in Scottsdale, Arizona, Peterson had a great shot on the 16th hole, and shortly after rescinded his trade request.I don’t recall ever seeing this kind of thing, but given that the tournament was taking place near Phoenix, this is not entirely shocking. And honestly, it’s kind of a cool way to approach it. I would prefer drama in the desert, but if not, this is one way to clear things up.The Cardinals have taken care of some notable business thus far this offseason. Along with Peterson rescinding his trade request, they got word that Larry Fitzgerald will be back for another year, and of course they hired Kliff Kingsbury to take their offense to a new level. They have plenty more work to do, but they should be improved from last season.

When he came out of Alabama Tom Johnson Jersey , Jarran Reed was regarded as a run-stopping defensive tackle. That was it.Anything else he provided for the Seattle Seahawks was going to be extra."He was a real dedicated run defender coming out. We did not see him specialize in rushing the passer. He has just emerged through his focus and dedication and hard work he has become a complete player," Seattle coach Pete Carroll said.On a defensive line where pass rush was a major question entering the season, Seattle has gotten an unexpected boost from its starting defensive tackle. Reed is second on the team with 6陆 sacks entering Monday night's game against Minnesota. But it's more than just sacks where Reed has provided help to Seattle's pass rush. Reed leads Seattle in quarterback hits with 17 and had six last week against San Francisco to go along with one sack.Even when he's not taking the quarterback down, Reed is helping provide the kind of pressure quarterback pressure Seattle's defense needs."I think he expects to get to the quarterback more than he used to and he wanted to develop his pass rush game," Carroll said. "He worked hard at it and I think his mentality to rush the passer is just the best it's been."Reed agreed with Carroll's assessment. Reed said he decided this offseason he would focus on his pass rushing, perhaps realizing the impact he could provide to Seattle's defense if he could get pressure from the interior. With Michael Bennett and Cliff Avril gone, Seattle lost its two top pass rushers. Frank Clark was the only returning defensive lineman with a track record of having success getting to the quarterback. It's why the defensive line 鈥?and the pass rush specifically 鈥?was such a major question for the Seahawks entering the season.Reed's success has alleviated some of those concerns. He had three total sacks in his career entering the season."The major emphasis last offseason was to get better at my all-around game, to be more reliable, to be on the field more for the team," Reed said.Reed said most of his offseason work was done in basic places. He would go to parks or football fields around Atlanta to practice his skills and would work out at a local gym.If there was a sand volleyball court available, he would go there to train. He chose not to go to any of the high-end training facilities for his offseason work, with the exception of spending some time back on campus at Alabama."I don't go to all the fancy little other things everybody goes and spends all that money on. I don't do that," Reed said. "I just use what the earth has. If it has some grass I can run on that. If it has sand, I can run on that. I lift at a regular gym, for real."Reed's challenge this week will be disrupting Minnesota's passing game. The Vikings have the seventh-best pass offense in the league in yards per game, but use a lot of short passes to make their offense work. That may not allow the same opportunities for Reed to get to the quarterback as a week ago."He was a great run defender and he came in here and was able to do that, but I think he's just expanded the scope of his game and it's obvious," Carroll said. "He's been a nice factor." career will resume Corey Davis Jersey , the Dallas Cowboys center is just relieved that he found out what was wrong when he was diagnosed with a nerve disorder. The four-time Pro Bowler doesn't want to say that his presence on the active roster, rather than injured reserve, means he could come back sooner than the eight weeks required by an IR designation.Frederick is getting treated for Guillain-Barre syndrome, an auto-immune disease that attacks nerves and leads to weakness in various parts of the body."I wish I was lying to you by telling you that," Frederick said Thursday in his first meeting with reporters since the diagnosis. "I have some of the best doctors in the business working on this and they can't even begin to predict how this is going to work. It really is a week-by-week thing."Frederick's streak of starting all 83 games, including three playoff games, in his five seasons with the Cowboys will end Sunday. Dallas plays at Carolina. The 27-year-old reiterated that his chances of a quick recovery improved when the disease was caught early. Frederick was diagnosed about 2陆 weeks ago and immediately underwent treatment. The 2016 All-Pro said doctors believe he has a type of Guillain-Barre that allows for complete recovery and a slightly increased risk of getting the disease again. With doctors catching the condition early, Frederick said he is likely to avoid extreme symptoms such as temporary paralysis and difficulties with breathing and body control.Frederick said he experienced numbness in both feet and hands and in one of his arms. He still says he's dealing with numbness in both arms."I was very relieved to finally have an idea of what it was that was going on, because I was having some weird symptoms," Frederick said. "I got treatment and things started to improve. That helped relieve some of that uneasiness there."It's hard looking forward not knowing what's coming as far as a recovery standpoint, when I can come back. But knowing that I will get back to 100 percent at some point is certainly relieving."Frederick said he has been cleared for some work in the weight room and has been "retraining the body to make sure I can do the movements that I previously have been able to do."He has also stayed around his teammates, traveling to the final preseason game in Houston and planning to do the same for the opener."His involvement with our team is a reflection on the kind of guy he is," coach Jason Garrett said. "He's part of the meetings. He's out there at the walkthroughs. He's doing everything he can to get himself back, but he's really contributing to our team as he's in that process."Frederick, who has a wife and two children, says he can handle many of the daily functions in life. Blocking 300-pound defensive linemen is another matter. And that's where his case differs from rehabbing a more traditional football injury."When you're injured, you try and get past it," he said. "This is something I can't just will my way through. It's a matter of the nerves not conducting properly and not working correctly. It's going to require some patience."Frederick first felt sensations that football players associate with neck injuries, or stingers, while the Cowboys were at training camp in California.A doctor in the Los Angeles area cleared him of neck issues, and Frederick told reporters it looked like he would be OK. As the feelings persisted and his neck still checked out fine structurally, Frederick wondered what else could be wrong. Now that he has the answer, he waits. And six-year veteran Joe Looney will be the first person other than Frederick to start at center for the Cowboys since the 2012 finale."He's very upbeat and positive," offensive coordinator Scott Linehan said. "You can tell he feels good about his road to recovery. In his role now Kevin Byard Jersey , it's helping getting Joe ready and getting those O-linemen tuned in."NOTES: Backup G Parker Ehinger, recently acquired from Kansas City in a trade, injured a knee and couldn't finish practice Wednesday. The Cowboys worked out free agent Xavier Su'a-Filo, a former starter in Houston. ... CB Chidobe Awuzie was limited for the second straight day because of tightness in his back.Titans Training Camp Day 6 Notes After a day off, the Titans were back on the practice field Wednesday. They were in shorts and shells, so it wasn’t a full padded practice, but there was some physical hitting nonetheless. 3rd Star: Derrick HenryDerrick Henry and Dion Lewis both had good days, but Henry really stood out. He opened the team period with a really nice windback run off a zone look. That’s the second time I’ve seen that run open up big during practice and again Henry hit it hard and got in to the second level. Henry also stood out in ways that were encouraging for his overall development as a back. Possibly the hardest hit of practice was Henry stepping in to pick up a blitzing Jayon Brown in pass protection. Henry also has been better than most would anticipate as a pass catcher. The Titans offense has spent a lot of time flexing backs out wide and letting them run routes as a receiver. Henry will never have the quicks of a guy like Dion Lewis, but he’s quite capable of doing some damage as a receiver and he gives Mariota a big target on slants. It was a good all-around day for the Titans young starting running back.2nd Star: Adoree JacksonWhile Malcolm Butler has grabbed the headlines with his interceptions in camp and feisty attitude, Jackson is quietly playing like a budding star. Today Jackson starred, making some great pass breakups. First he got Tajae Sharpe with his physicality on a hitch route, then he used his hops to sky with Corey Davis and punch the ball free on a fade route near the goal line. Jackson appears to be more physical at the line of scrimmage this year and has completely erased receivers at times during camp. 1st Star: Harold LandryAs Mo noted earlier this week, Landry has been getting a lot of extra reps with Brian Orakpo out with a shoulder injury. He took advantage of those reps today as he was a force on the edge against the Titans first team offensive line. Landry got sacks on back to back snaps at one point during the red zone period at the end of practice. Once winning with speed around the edge and then teaming up with Derrick Morgan to run a game on the right side of the Titans line with both rushers ending up in Mariota’s lap. Landry’s strength setting the edge has been good as well. It’s clear that he’s going to get a lot of snaps in this defense, even when Orakpo is healthy. Injury UpdatesJohnathan Cyprien: Cyprien went down with a left knee injury during practice today. After staying down for a moment, he was able to get up on his own and walk to the locker room without help. His frustration was clear though as he threw his helmet on the way off. Hopefully the injury is nothing serious. No news will qualify as good news here. If we get to tomorrow without an announcement about him being put on IR, that should tell us that he’ll be OK relatively soon.Malcolm Butler: Butler sat out today after appearing to turn an ankle on Monday. It didn’t appear to be anything serious at the time as he got tape and tried to go back in, but it appears the team is being extra cautious with all injuries.Rishard Matthews: Matthews got some good news today as Jonathan Hutton of Midday 180 reported that the Titans receiver was out running routes before practice today, something we haven’t seen from him until today. Hutton said that Matthews looked good, with no noticeable limp or restrictions. Hopefully that means we see him back on the field soon. It will be interesting to see what the offense looks like with their top three receivers together on the field. It will also be interesting to see where he slots in relative to Taywan Taylor.Brian Orakpo: No update on Rak as he continues to be held out with a shoulder injury.Jonnu Smith: Smith was back in action today and looking to be 100%. Rashaan Evans: Still no Evans today. This is the most mysterious of all the injuries.Luke Stocker: Stocker was back today as well.Jack Conklin: No update here. Conklin continues to watch practice remaining on the PUP list.Phillip Supernaw: Supernaw was out at practice today walking around and watching. I don’t think I had seen him out there previously, but he remains on the PUP list with a mystery injury.Offense NotesOverall, it was a decent day for the offense. The defense probably won overall again, but it wasn’t a complete shutout like it was on Monday. Mariota was sharper today I thought. He had one bad miss on a throw to Luke Stocker in the flats, but besides that he was mostly accurate. He continues to be exceedingly accurate on deep throws down the field. Fades and posts have been on the money from Mariota consistently in camp which bodes well for the offense’s ability to create explosive plays in the passing game this season. Corey Davis was back in action after getting a planned day off on Monday. He had a couple good moments. My favorite was a post route in the red zone working against Adoree Jackson in a 7v7 period. He did a great job of leaning in to Jackson at the top of the route before breaking back inside to create separation and then went up high to catch the ball in the back of the end zone. Really good stuff there. He did have a bad drop during a team period though. He got free deep on a post route and Mariota dropped a great ball in, but he bobbled it and eventually had it knocked away by the recovering defensive back. Taywan Taylor continues to stack good days on top of each other. He simply eats defensive backs alive during 1v1 drills with his quickness in and out of breaks and has no issues beating press coverage there. He also made a great contested catch in the middle of the field on a deep dig with at two or three defenders all converging on him. I’m not 100% sure that Matthews steps right back in to the #2 spot when he comes back.Jonnu Smith’s return produced one of the offensive highlights of the day as he took a tight end screen to the house with a great run after the catch. Smith looks like a stud.Guard Cody Wichmann got some run with the first team at left guard during a team period late in the practice. He’s pretty clearly third behind Quinton Spain and Kevin Pamphile as the Titans look at their options at left guard. Dion Lewis looked excellent on some catches out of the backfield. He is just ridiculously quick. He also took a carry around the corner for what would have been a touchdown during team period. The Titans backfield is going to be really good.Anthony Firkser continued to get some reps high in the rotation despite the return of Smith and Stocker. It’s clear that he has made an impression and he continued his good play today with a couple catches. It was a rough day for the backup quarterbacks. Gabbert had a couple nice throws Marcus Mariota Jersey , but also threw a few in to coverage and missed bad on a deep ball that should have been open. Falk also badly underthrew a deep post and generally struggled to get completions. Jet sweeps showed up in the offensive repertoire today as both Michael Campanaro and Darius Jennings got handoffs during team periods. That was a big part of the Rams offense in 2017 and it looks like it might pop up in Tennessee this year as well.Defense NotesI thought LeShaun Sims had his best day of camp today as he filled in for Malcolm Butler with the top defensive unit. He had a nice breakup against Nick Williams and looked like he belonged out there. After Cyprien went down with an injury, the first safety in to the starting rotation was Demontre Hurst. He’s consistently been playing high in the safety pecking order this camp and has a real shot at making the roster.Kendrick Lewis made his best play of camp today as well when he jumped in front of a Blaine Gabbert pass to make a diving interception (though I’m not 100% sure he held on to the catch).Austin Johnson had a really nice win versus Xavier Su’a-Filo in a pass rush drill between the offensive and defensive line as he used a nice club-rip combination to quickly dispose of his blocker.Bennie Logan flashed a couple times as a run plugger in team period. He is tough to move off the spot. The defense broke out a pass rush package featuring Aaron Wallace, DaQuan Jones, Derrick Morgan, and Harold Landry from left to right at one point today and it was quite effective, resulting in a split sack between Morgan and Landry. I would imagine that group will be Orakpo, Casey, Morgan, and Landry when everyone is healthy this season and that should be a ton of fun to watch. One defensive wrinkle I noted was a set that looked like man to man pre-snap, but morphed in to a cover 2 zone with cornerback Adoree Jackson dropping in to one of the deep half positions across from Kevin Byard. It was an interesting look.Josh Carraway flashed in team period with the 2nd team, picking up a sack on a nice speed rush around the right tackle. Odds and EndsOne thing that I like about Vrabel is that he really tries to bring the energy in practice. He sprints from station to station during individual periods and at one point ran by a group of offensive lineman, showing off his speed. Despite Landry’s overall strong day today, the battle between him and the Boss Hogg Taylor Lewan have been mostly one-sided in favor of the two-time Pro Bowler. That’s no surprise, but the cool thing to see is that Lewan makes a point to give Landry tips after each rep, trying to help the rookie improve. Working against Lewan will only make Landry better when he gets to have a go at lesser tackles. The handling of injuries has been a little frustrating for fans and media so far because the team simply doesn’t give any information about what’s happening with a player, but I will say that I think the very cautious approach with shutting guys down if they’re even a little banged up is a smart one. Being as healthy as possible entering the season is crucial for any NFL team. It seems like the Titans are monitoring practice reps and the amount of work that players put in on a day to day basis and giving days off to try to manage that workload.Tim Shaw was out at practice today. It’s always great to see him and the relationship he has with this team. The Titans got some kick return work in today and had five guys working as possible returners: Adoree Jackson, Michael Campanaro, Dion Lewis, Akrum Wadley, and Rico Gafford. The Titans are back at the normal practice time on Thursday morning at Saint Thomas Sports Park. On Friday they will travel down to Williamson County to practice at Centennial High School for their second annual “Friday Night Lights” practice. Then Saturday, they’ll host an open practice at Nissan Stadium from 3:30-6:00. Lots of good opportunities to come out and get a glimpse of the team.

Extension According to Ira Kaufman of JoeBucsFan.com Carlton Davis Jersey , Bucs GM Jason Licht received a contract extenstion today that will keep him in Tampa Bay through 2019. Licht first came to Tampa Bay in 2014 after serving as vice president of player personnel for the Arizona Cardinals the year before. With the contract extenstion, he will now be at the forefront of the Bucs’ last six drafts after the event concludes in 2019. There was speculation on whether or not Licht would be extended past this season in spite of the team’s 2018 performance.  linebacker Reuben Foster on Sunday morning after Foster was arrested at the team’s hotel in Tampa on a domestic violence charge. It was a change from the way they handled Foster’s offseason domestic violence arrest. Foster stayed away from the team Tom Rathman Jersey , but remained on the roster as the process played out and rejoined the team after his accuser — the same woman from the more recent incident — recanted her allegation.49ers General Manager John Lynch said Foster “not living up to what we have communicated” was the reason for the different reaction this time and called it “disappointing.” Cornerback Richard Sherman used the same word after the game while also saying that he wishes the best for Foster and understands the team’s decision.“It’s what they had to do,” Sherman said, via NBC Bay Area. “I think the organization has handled the situation as best they could. RENTON J.R. Sweezy Jersey , Wash. (AP) —  are giving quarterback Paxton Lynch another chance in the NFL.Lynch’s signing Thursday throws the former first-round pick directly into the mix as a potential backup for Russell Wilson.Lynch was cut by the Denver Broncos before the start of the 2018 season. He started four games in his first two seasons for Denver after being the No. 26 overall pick in 2016 but was not signed by any teams in 2018 after being released.Lynch was twice beat out for the Broncos’ starting job in training camp and was deemed expendable after the acquisition of Case Keenum last offseason.Seattle has seen a revolving door of backups behind Wilson, but rarely have they been called into duty. Wilson took every snap of the 2018 season after Seattle traded a late-round draft pick to Green Bay to acquire Brett Hundley. Hundley is an unrestricted free agent. On Saturday the Seattle Seahawks will take on the Dallas Cowboys in one of the two NFC Wild Card games slated to take place this weekend, and don’t be surprised if quarterback Russell Wilson tucks the ball and runs more than he typically did this season. It was nearly a year ago that the Seahawks cleaned house on their coaching staff, replacing Darrell Bevell, Tom Cable and Kris Richard, while also jettisoning Heath Farwell and Travis Jones, and putting Carl Smith out to pasture. The team then went about systematically gutting the roster, with longtime fan favorites such as Richard Sherman, Michael Bennett and DeShawn Shead being shown the door, while others like Kam Chancellor and Cliff Avril stepped away from the playing field due to injuries. In short Duane Brown Jersey , it was a complete overhaul of the team and staff. And that led to the season that Russell Wilson had, where he set career highs in touchdown passes while tying his career low in interceptions. However, where Wilson’s game saw a big drop in the numbers was on the ground. Wilson had the fewest rushing attempts of his career in 2018, as he took to Brian Schottenheimer’s quarterback coaching and did more damage from the pocket with his arm and less with his legs. Here’s a look at how Wilson’s 2018 stacked up with the other seasons of his career in terms of rushing attempts. Russell Wilson rushing attempts by season compared to team rushing attemptsSeasonRussell Wilson rushing attemptsRussell Wilson rushing attempts (excluding kneel downs)Team rushing attemptsSeasonRussell Wilson rushing attemptsRussell Wilson rushing attempts (excluding kneel downs)Team rushing attemptsIt’s easy to see how Wilson’s rushing attempts dropped drastically this year compared to the prior six season, even coming in lower than his injury plagued 2016 season. However, what doesn’t jump right out from those numbers is when Wilson would take off running, and whether there was any sort of pattern to it. So, for that, let’s look at his rushing attempts by game.Russell Wilson rushing attempts by gameOpponentOutcomeAttemptsYardsYard Per CarryOpponentOutcomeAttemptsYardsYard Per CarryNow, that table includes Wilson’s 16 2018 kneel downs Justin Coleman Jersey , so let’s strip those out and look at the numbers without those kneels included. Russell Wilson 2018 rushing game log with kneel downs removedOpponentOutcomeAttemptsYardsYard Per CarryOpponentOutcomeAttemptsYardsYard Per CarryAnd those numbers make it pretty evident that Wilson takes off running when the team needs it. When they don’t need him to make plays with his legs, such as against the Carolina Panthers and Green Bay Packers, they don’t ask him to run with the ball. When they need it - against the Los Angeles Rams, Kansas City Chiefs and Minnesota Vikings, Wilson seemed more than happy to do damage on the ground. Thus, with the Seahawks looking for their first road win of the season against a team with a winning record against the Cowboys on Saturday, and with the season over if they are unable to come up with that victory, don’t be surprised if we see Russ score his first rushing touchdown of the 2018 season.

COLUMBUS Tim Schaller Jersey Womens , Ohio (AP)  place to sweep in a beautiful feed from Pierre-Luc Dubois 59 seconds into overtime to win a game the Columbus Blue Jackets nearly let slip away in the third period.Dubois, the Blue Jackets’ 19-year-old rookie, danced through the slot and into the left circle before sliding the puck back past Colorado’s Tyson Barrie and onto Jones’ stick. The goal lifted Columbus past the Avalanche 5-4 on Thursday night and allowed the Blue Jackets to hang on to the second Eastern Division wild-card spot, one point behind New Jersey and four behind Philadelphia.”We wanted to make it a little interesting,” Jones quipped.Colorado tied the game with from Gabriel Landeskog and Carl Soderberg in the third period before Columbus tallied on its first possession of the 3-on-3 OT. Joonas Korpisalo stopped two Colorado shots before the Blue Jackets charged back.Korpisalo had 23 total saves to get his second win in three days subbing for sick starter Sergei Bobrovsky.Jones added two assists, and Thomas Vanek got his first two goals for Columbus after being acquired from Vancouver at the trade deadline Feb. 26. Zach Werenski also tallied for the Blue Jackets.Columbus had to rally from a two-goal deficit in the first period when Barrie and Soderberg scored in a span of 12 seconds. The Blue Jackets scored four straight, including Vanek’s pair of second-period goals, to take a 4-2 lead before Colorado evened it in the third frame.”Being down 2-0 at that point in time the way we were playing, we didn’t deserve it,” Columbus coach John Tortorella said. ”I thought we played a good game right on through. We clawed to win it, we had to go to overtime to win it Jay Beagle Jersey Womens , but I thought we played a good game right on through, right from the drop of the puck.”Semyon Varlamov had 39 saves for Colorado, which lost its third straight. Soderberg had two goals , and Mikko Rantanen a pair of assists. The Avalanche has lost three in a row as they try to stay on the fringes of the Western Conference wild-card playoff picture.”We found a way to carve a point, but we need to get some more pucks in traffic to the net,” Colorado coach Jared Bednar said. ”We’ll take the point. I don’t think we deserve the point tonight. We certainly have to be better than that.”Columbus, winners of five of their last seven, will try to keep up the momentum Friday night when the Detroit Redwings visit in the third game of a four-game homestand. Pittsburgh had made a habit of beating Washington in the playoffs en route to winning the Cup. Washington flipped the script in the second round last spring and ousted the two-time defending Cup champions along the way to their first title. That left the Capitals thirsty for more.“As soon as you win the Cup, you don’t want to lose that feeling Nick Holden Jersey Womens ,” Washington captain Alex Ovechkin told the Washington Post. “You want to win more than one. You go there once, and you want to come back more than once because it’s great.”The Capitals will be without winger Tom Wilson, who was issued a 20-game suspension by the NHL Wednesday for a hit he delivered in a preseason game.Wilson was suspended three games during the playoff series with Pittsburgh last spring for delivering a hit that left Zach Aston-Reese with a broken jaw and a concussion.Pittsburgh captain Sidney Crosby was critical of Wilson before the length of the latest suspension was known.“He still chooses to make those hits,” Crosby said. “I’m sure the league’s well aware of that. It’s not the first time we’re talking about a hit that he made. … For whatever reason, he still decides to do that.“I just don’t know how many opportunities you need, you know? So, obviously, the point hasn’t been made yet.”Perhaps anticipating Wilson’s absence, the Capitals Tuesday claimed winger Dmitrij Jaskin off waivers from St. Louis, and he could make his Washington debut against the Penguins. I think everyone’s excited to start playing for something again and come together as a team — especially after last year, ending it on a sour note.”While Pittsburgh goaltender Matt Murray will be fresh, Washington coach Todd Reirden had not decided whether to go with his No. 1 goalie, Braden Holtby, a second night in a row against the Penguins after he picked up his 33rd career shutout Wednesday.“I definitely have spent some time on this one, probably as soon as the schedule came out,” Reirden said of the decision.

I don't know what's going to happen. I have no clue," he told reporters. The settlement is significantly less than the billion-dollar agreement reached between the NFL and its former players on the same issue of head injuries.Charles Zimmerman, a lead attorney for players, said earlier in the day participation is “very good” so far, adding there were still some players who needed to be contacted for their decisions.“The vast majority of eligible retired players have agreed to participate in the proposed NHL concussion settlement,” players’ lawyers said in a statement. “Plaintiffs’ counsel, however, have encountered difficulties reaching some eligible retired players to discuss the settlement. Thus San Jose Sharks T-Shirts Authentic , at the request of plaintiffs’ counsel, the NHL has agreed to extend the participation deadline to allow completion of those communications.”Deputy Commissioner Bill Daly referred the matter to plaintiffs’ lawyers and said the NHL would have no comment.Daniel Carcillo, a vocal critic of the league and the settlement, said he would not be opting in and knew more 10-12 other former players who also were not. Carcillo said Friday he wanted his day in court with the league but didn’t begrudge anyone who wanted to opt in and take the $22,000.Carcillo said he has fielded calls from more than 20 heads of individual teams’ alumni associations and that he has tried to tell any player who asks the facts of the lawsuit without injecting his opinion. Carcillo pointed to“If 22’s enough for you and you need it, then go ahead,” said Carcillo, who played 474 regular-season and playoff games from 2007-2015. “I won’t judge anybody who takes it. I don’t judge the guys who (played) five games and they saw an opportunity. But I also say this so that people understand why it’s such a disrespectful number because right now (the NHL doesn’t) feel that threatened.”Reed Larson San Jose Sharks Hoodies Authentic , who played 936 NHL regular-season and playoff games, said he signed on to be part of the settlement but understood why some players with serious health problems decided not to because the money wouldn’t cut it for them. There is a clause in the settlement that allows the NHL to terminate it if 100 percent of players don’t accept, but Larson said lawyers are not concerned.“They think everything will go ahead and move ahead and they don’t see any reason why it won’t,” Larson said. Carter Hutton ought to be feeling pressure to perform well when the Buffalo Sabres visit the Anaheim Ducks on Sunday evening at Staples Center.Hutton is set to make his seventh start in goal for the Sabres and he has been subpar in his past three outings.Meanwhile, backup goalie Linus Ullmark made 20 saves in a 5-1 victory at the Los Angeles Kings on Saturday afternoon. He had just one assist in the first seven games. “I thought the line played pretty well San Jose Sharks Hats Authentic ,” Skinner told MSG Network after the game. “I thought (Pominville and Eichel) did a great job working down low. I think a majority of our offense was created off the cycle.”Skinner had one of his hat tricks in Anaheim while a member of the Carolina Hurricanes. He scored three goals in a 5-1 victory on Dec. 11, 2015.Sutton has made four career appearances against Anaheim, owning a 1-2-1 record, 3.00 goals-against average and .888 save percentage. The Ducks (5-2-1) are expected to start goalie Ryan Miller after John Gibson played Saturday night in a 3-1 loss at the Vegas Golden Knights.Miller played for Buffalo from 2002 to 2014 and remains the franchise leader in several career categories, including games played by a goalie (540), minutes (33,661) and wins (284).Miller made his only other start this season on Sunday at the St. Louis Blues, saving 29 of 31 shots in the 3-2 victory. The Ducks have been known as a physically intimidating team in the past. They’ve had to take a step back as they infuse younger players into the lineup Custom San Jose Sharks Jerseys , but Skinner said the Sabres will be ready if Anaheim wants to play that style.Kyle Okposo and Zach Bogosian stood up to the Kings on Saturday.“We have sort of that mentality that we’re all going to stick up for one another, which is a nice feeling,” Skinner said. The first goal has been huge in games involving the Sabres this season. The team that has taken a 1-0 lead has led the rest of the way in all eight games. The Ducks plan to retire the jersey of Paul Kariya before the game.

VANCOUVER http://www.kingsproshop.com/authentic-jonathan-quick-jersey ,  The San Jose Sharks took no pity on teenager Mike DiPietro making his NHL debut in the nets for the Vancouver Canucks.Evander Kane scored twice, leading the Sharks to a 7-2 rout of the Canucks on Monday night. The victory moves San Jose into first place in the Western Conference and extends the Sharks’ winning streak to six games.Timo Meier, Melker Karlsson, Tomas Hertl, Kevin Lebanc and Joe Pavelski also scored for the Sharks. Martin Jones had 25 saves.Bo Horvat and Derrick Pouliot scored for Vancouver. DiPietro stopped 17 of 24 shots in his NHL debut. The 19-year-old native of Amherstburg, Ontario, was called up from the Ontario Hockey League’s Ottawa 67’s on an emergency basis last week after Canucks backup Thatcher Demko was sidelined with a knee sprain.“I don’t feel bad at all for putting him in the net,” Canucks coach Travis Green said. “He’s here, he’s the backup. I didn’t have another choice. That’s who we had to play tonight,” the coach said.“I don’t think he’s upset that he played. I think he’s pretty excited that he played.”Jacob Markstrom, the team’s starting goalie, was slated to start on Monday but was scratched as a precaution due to tightness in his lower body.“Definitely not the ideal first game,” DiPietro said. “But it’s something I’ve dreamt about my entire life and to have the opportunity this young to do it, it’s something that’s positive for me, that I’ll take as a learning experience.”As the game went on, the young goalie felt more comfortable and said he’ll focus on the things he did right as he continues working on his game.“When you focus on the negatives too much, you’re going to feel like an ant in the net,” he said.DiPietro struggled early, letting in the first shot of the game after Canucks defenseman Erik Gudbranson failed to corral the puck behind the net.Logan Couture collected the puck and dished it to Meier, who fired it past DiPietro 1:04 into the first period. The Sharks added another goal just minutes later off a high shot by Kane. Vancouver defenseman Ben Hutton attempted to punch the puck out of the air in front of the net, but instead sent it in off of DiPietro. When Karlsson added San Jose’s third goal 8:48 into the opening frame, the Canucks had yet to register a shot.Despite a slow start, Vancouver seemed to find its way late in the first, tying up the Sharks in their own end. With just seconds left on the clock, rookie Elias Pettersson sliced a pass to Horvat down low. The center hammered a slap shot past Jones to put the Canucks on the board.Vancouver out shot San Jose 13-5 in the second period, but the Sharks added goals from Kane, Hertl and Lebanc.Lebanc’s tally came from a 2-on-1 in which Joe Thornton drew DiPietro across the crease before dishing off to the right-winger.The assist was the 1,050th of Thornton’s career. He passed Gordie Howe for ninth place on the league’s all-time assists list.It was also the 39-year-old center’s 1,457th NHL point, tying Teemu Selanne for 15th place on the all-time points list.“That’s an unbelievable accomplishment, unbelievable career, and that’s something that should be really celebrated and I think our whole group and I are excited we were here to witness that,” said Sharks coach Peter DeBoer. “Gordie Howe’s career speaks for itself but when you get a guy like Joe Thornton that actually passes him on the assist list that is an amazing accomplishment.”Logan Couture said he’s speechless over sharing a dressing room with someone who has passed a Howe milestone.“It’s pretty crazy Nate Thompson Jersey ,” said the San Jose center, who had two assists. “(Thornton) is a special player, he’s been a special player for two decades and I still believe that he is underrated. I still don’t think he gets the credit he deserves for how world class a player he has been for two decades. Pretty special.”Vancouver’s second goal came from Pouliot 12:06 into the third. Zack MacEwen assisted on the play. It was the 22-year-old’ MacEwen’s first NHL point and came in his league debut. He was called up from the American Hockey League’s Utica Comets on Sunday.Pavelski added the final goal of the game less than two minutes later.“It’s pretty cool, taking a look up and seeing Joe Thornton and Pavelski right across the ice and shooting on me,” DiPietro said. “Obviously when they score on you it’s not too good. But I had to pinch myself and just stay in the moment.”Despite the result, Horvat had kind words for Vancouver’s young goalie.“It’s not easy to come right from junior and play an NHL game. So kudos to him for stepping up there,” Horvat said. “And honestly, I think he played a heck of a game. He made some unbelievable saves out there. We hung him out to dry for a lot of those goals and he had no chance on them.”NOTES: Vancouver has placed center Brandon Sutter on injured reserve with a lower body injury. … Pavelski registered an assist on Meier’s goal, marking his 400th NHL assist. … San Jose defenseman Erik Karlsson missed Monday’s game with a lower-body injury.UP NEXTSharks: Host Washington Capitals on Thursday.Canucks: Start a three-game California swing at Anaheim on Wednesday. The All-Star Game in the four major U.S. sports rarely captures the public's imagination in the modern era.The NHL was not immune to this issue, and the Lords of the Game were not happy when All-Star Games became scorefests with both teams either in or approaching double figures in goal totals. There was no hitting and no defense in any of these games, and there was more intensity in the beer line than there was on the ice. However, after changing lanes from Eastern Conference All-Stars vs. Western Conference All-Stars to captains pick their own teams, the NHL decided to make the main component of the game a three-on-three contest between the league's four divisions. The is the fourth year of a three-on-three format that featuresthe Atlantic Division meeting the Metropolitan stars in one semifinal and the Central facing off against the Pacific in the other, and the winners meeting for the title. While the response has been somewhat mixed, there is more intensity as the tournament produces a $1 million prize for the division that wins the title, and the games have been more competitive.Fans in San Jose and those watching on NBC Saturday night at 8 p.m. will be able to watch the NHL All-Star Game. This is the first time since 1997 that the NHL All-Star Game will be broadcast in prime time on network television. Here's a look at the four teams, and an analysis of the rosters.Atlantic DivisionAll-Star appearances presented parenthetically.F Jack Eichel, BUF (second)F Nikita Kucherov, TBL (third)F Auston Matthews, TOR (third)F Jeff Skinner, BUF (second)F David Pastrnak, BOS (first)F Steven Stamkos, TBL (sixth)F John Tavares, TOR (sixth)D Thomas Chabot, OTT (first)D Keith Yandle, FLA (third)G Jimmy Howard, DET (second)G Andrei Vasilevskiy, TBL (second)The strength of this team may be the plethora of Tampa Bay Lightning playerssince that team has been far and away the best in league this season.Start with Nikita Kucherov, the league's leading scorer with 22 goals and 78 points. He is a magnificent playmaker and a dangerous scorer when he decides to shoot.Teammate Steven Stamkos has found the back of the net 26 times and he has been hot in recent weeks, while goalie Andrei Vasilevskiy is one of the best puck stoppers in the league. He has 20-6-2 record along with a 2.50 goals-against average and a .925 save percentage.Vasilevskiy will split the goaltending duties with Jimmy Howard of the Detroit Red Wings. The Toronto Maple Leafs are representedby Auston Matthews and John Tavares, while the Buffalo Sabres are sending Jack Eichel and Jeff Skinner.David Pastrnak is the lone Boston Bruin in the game, and he has flashed his talent with 27 goals and 29 assists.A look at the Atlantic roster showsThomas Chabot of the Ottawa Senators and Keith Yandle of the Florida Panthers are the division's two defensemen. Ovechkin has a league-best 37 goals, but he announced he would not play and needs the time off.As a result of his decision, the league has mandated Ovechkin will miss the Washington Capitals' first game after the All-Star break. The Capitals are represented by goalie Braden Holtby and defenseman John Carlson.Holtby has a 17-12-3 record, a 3.11 GAA and a .905 save percentage. Carlson does an excellent job of creating offensively and he has eight goals and 39 assists.Mathew Barzal will represent the New York Islanders and has 14 goals and 31 assists. Barzal has become the Islanders' go-to star since Tavares signed with the Maple Leafs in the offseason.Cam Atkinson and Seth Jones are representing the Columbus Blue Jackets. Atkinson has become a clutch scorer for head coach John Tortorella's team with 27 goals and 21 assists, while Jones is a rising star who has netted seven goals and 22 assists from the blue line. The New York Rangers have sent Henrik Lundqvist to the All-Star game, and he has a15-12-7 record with a 3.01 GAA and a .908 save percentage. This team appears to lack the firepower to win the competition since Ovechkin has decided to take a pass.Central DivisionF Patrick Kane, CHI (eighth)F Nathan MacKinnon, COL (third)F Ryan O'Reilly, STL (second)F Mikko Rantanen, COL (first)F Mark Scheifele, WPG (first)F Blake Wheeler, WPG (second)F Gabriel Landeskog, COL (first)D Miro Heiskanen, DAL (first)D Roman Josi, NSH (second)G Devan Dubnyk, MIN (third)G Pekka Rinne, NSH (third)Rantanen of the Colorado Avalanche may be the sport's most underpublicized superstar, and he could use the All-Star game to fully introduce himself to sports fans.Rantanen is the league's second-leading scorer behind Kucherov with 23 goals and 51 assists Tanner Pearson Jersey , and he is strong on the puck and an excellent decision maker when he passes. He is joined by teammate Nathan MacKinnon, who has netted 27 goals and added 44 assists.MacKinnon will challenge McDavid as one of the fastest skaters in the league.Explosive Patrick Kane is a veteran of All-Star games, and this is his eighth appearance. He has scored 29 goals and 42 assists this yearand is having a fine scoring year for the struggling Chicago Blackhawks.Blake Wheeler and Mark Scheifele represent the Winnipeg Jets. Wheeler is one of the best three-zone players in the league and he has nine goals and 52 assists to this point in the season, while Scheifele has netted 25 goals 34 assists. The Nashville Predators are sending defenseman Roman Josi and goaltender Pekka Rinne. Josi is one of the league's best defenseman and has scored eight goals and 28 assists, while Rinne is18-12-3 with a 2.47 GAA and a .915 save percentage.Rinne will share goaltending duties with Devan Dubnyk, and the Minnesota Wild netminder brings a20-16-3 record, a 2.57 GAA and a .913 save percentage. The Central team looks strong in all areas and should have an excellent chance of performing well in this format.Pacific DivisionF Johnny Gaudreau, CGY (fifth)F Clayton Keller, ARI (first)F Connor McDavid, EDM (third)F Joe Pavelski, SJS (third)F Elias Pettersson, VAN (first)F Leon Draisaitl, EDM (first)D Brent Burns, SJS (sixth)D Drew Doughty, LAK (fifth)D Erik Karlsson, SJS (sixth)G Marc-Andre Fleury, VGK (fourth)G John Gibson, ANA (second)The Pacific Division appears to be the favorite in this league, as the combination of McDavid and Gaudreaubrings a dynamic offensive presence to this team. Both players have scored 29 goals and 44 assists, and are tied for third in the league in scoring. NEWARK Frans Nielsen Jersey Kids , N.J. (AP)long to get going with the Vegas Golden Knights.Three games into his tenure, Tatar got a winner with his first goal and Vegas avoided its first four-game losing streak with a 3-2 victory over New Jersey on Sunday, handing the Devils their third-straight loss.”It’s a big goal after getting traded and it’s a big one to get the monkey off the back, but the even bigger thing is it helped us win the game,” said Tatar, who was acquired in a trading-deadline deal with the Red Wings last Monday. ”It’s a good start for our road trip.”Deryk Englland and David Perron also scored for the Golden Knights, which is starting a five-game road trip.Marc-Andre Fleury, who stopped a half-dozen excellent chances in the first period, made 33 saves, including a last-second shot by Kyle Palmieri to win for the 22nd time in 33 games.”We didn’t give up near as many chances as we did the last couple of games,” Vegas coach Gerard Gallant said of the recent 0-2-1 skid. ”I felt we played a better defensive game and `Flower’ (Fleury) was really good in the net for us. He made a great save with one second left in the hockey game.”Taylor Hall had a goal and an assist for New Jersey to extend his points streak to a league-best 19 games. He has a point in the last 25 games he has played. He missed three games with an injury, so the personal streak is longer than the league-recognized run.”It’s hockey so you are going to lose some games Gordie Howe Jersey ,” Hall said of the Devils’ recent ups and downs. ”You are going to go through rough patches. No one has gone 82-0. It’s a hard league and there is so much parity there are no easy games.”After a scoreless first period, there were five goals in the second, with the Golden Knights getting three and Tatar providing the winner with his 17th of the season.Tatar, who was acquired for three high draft picks over the next four years, gave Vegas a 3-1 lead with 2:17 left in the period when slid a rebound of Perron’s blast that Schneider could not hold under the goaltender for a power-play goal.Schneider felt he had the puck between his pads. He didn’t.”I was just trying to get down on it and whoever it was just speared into the pads and knocked it through,” said Schneider, who is now 0-2 since returning from hip and groin injuries. ”They called it a good goal and we didn’t challenge it. You just have to live with it.”Tatar said his teammates made a nice play off the faceoff and Perron had a hard shot.”He was walking down main street and I tried to help him so that he could have the best shooting lane,” Tatar said. ”The puck dropped there and I poked it in.”Hall reduced the lead to a goal 12 seconds later with his career-best 30th goal. He collected a puck that Golden Knights defenseman Colin Miller mishandled behind his own net and came quickly came out in front and beat Fleury.”I’d give it all up for a couple of wins,” Hall said of his streak.Perron opened the scoring at 4:39, putting the rebound of a deflection by Tomas Hyka into an open net.Sami Vatanen tied it a little more than four minutes later with a power-play goal from the left circle. Hall set it up with a cross-ice pass.Engelland put the Golden Knights ahead to stay at 11:17 with a rising shot from the right point past a screened Schneider. It was his first goal in 35 games and fourth of the season.NOTES: Devils F Brian Gibbons will skate with the team this week for the first time since breaking a thumb on Jan. 20. … Perron’s 59 points are a career high. … Vegas scratched F James Neal and Oscar Lindberg and D Luca Sbisa and Nate Schmidt with injuries. … Devils rookie F Jesper Bratt was a healthy scratch. … D Jon Merrill, who Vegas took from New Jersey in the expansion draft, got an assist on Perron’s goal. … Patrick Maroon Authentic Gustav Nyquist Jersey , who the Devils acquired on a trading deadline deal, has three assists in three games.UP NEXT:Golden Knights: At Columbus on Tuesday night.Devils: Host Montreal on Tuesday night.— Behind the mask is a mind filled with a web of a thousand thoughts, worries and a singular focus of what it takes to win a game. Then the next game, then the one after that.”There is no shut-off for a goaltender,” retired goalie Brian Boucher said. ”The mind doesn’t shut off.”A starting NHL goaltender bears a burden unlike any position in hockey and few others in sports, and the resulting pressure builds up over the course of a season. By this time of year, with the playoffs on the horizon, No. 1 goalies have grinded through almost six months of work and are battling fatigue that threatens to derail their team’s hopes.Andrei Vasilevskiy of Tampa Bay is going through it for the first time while Braden Holtby of the Washington Capitals is used to it by now. Goalies of all ages have no choice but to manage the physical and mental hurdles.”It’s one of those things that you’ve got find ways to make sure you’re prepared and ready to play every game,” Holtby said. ”As a goaltender, there’s not much room to take nights off.”It’s worse for the goalies whose teams can’t afford to start a backup. Boucher started the final 13 games for Philadelphia in 2010 to help them make the playoffs, Jonathan Quick started 20 of the final 21 games for the Los Angeles Kings when they tried to make a furious push to make it in 2015 and Kari Lehtonen could be counted on to play the final nine games of the Dallas Stars‘ season now as they claw for a spot.”You’ll go through the whole night thinking about tomorrow, show up to the rink in the morning thinking about tonight and then you show up to the game thinking about the game Womens Henrik Zetterberg Jersey ,” said Boucher, now an analyst for NBC Sports. ”Not until that horn goes off at the very end can you finally go, `Whew,’ and take a deep breath and hopefully it’s in a celebration with your teammates. …. You have a shower, you feel good about things, you go home, you kind of decompress and then the next day it starts again: the butterflies, the nerves, the thinking about your opponent. And that’s the mental fatigue that comes into it.”That’s what Vasilevskiy is dealing with at age 23, 58 starts into his first season as the full-time starter and the league leader in victories.”Tiredness is something that I probably never faced before,” he told The Tampa Bay Times. The same goes for Winnipeg goalie Connor Hellebuyck, who is between the pipes for meaningful games and on the cusp of his first playoff appearance. Jets goaltending coach Wade Flaherty talks to Hellebuyck almost daily about what he needs to be successful Jimmy Howard Jersey , and the staff pays careful attention to making sure the 24-year-old is good to go.Coach Paul Maurice said the Jets are aware of the balance between rhythm and rest but aren’t holding Hellebuyck back.”There’s a fatigue component that a No. 1 goaltender also has to embrace,” Maurice said. ”He has to learn how to play when he doesn’t feel 100 percent right because that’s basically going to be his life.”Winnipeg has been able to give Hellebuyck blocks of two or three days completely off, a rarity for top goalies this time of year. The Nashville Predators have a big enough lead atop the Central Division that they can afford to lighten Pekka Rinne’s workload down the stretch, which could be a huge benefit.”I like thinking outside the box,” former goalie Martin Biron said. ”You may have a Friday-Saturday game, have a Tuesday game, have a Thursday game. You can play your starter on Friday-Saturday and not play him on Tuesday so he gets Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday (off) and then he gets ready for the weekend again for the Thursday. There’s a lot more days to be able to decompress and really think about how to reset and re-prepare.”Holtby got a 10-day reset from a month-plus of struggles as Philipp Grubauer started four games in a row. Having a reliable backup is a luxury Washington has – and Holtby doesn’t like taking days off, either. Toronto starter Frederik Andersen recently joked that he’s more tired of being asked if he’s tired than he is from facing the most shots in the league.Practice shots, warmups Jonathan Ericsson Jersey , travel and mental and physical preparation are also part of the wear and tear. Analyst Justin Goldman of The Goalie Guild said those can be spaced out over weeks and months.”Anything you can do to get a little bit of extra sleep over the course of the season is absolutely monumental when it comes time for the playoff push,” Goldman said.Biron, who started 59 games for Philadelphia in 2007-08 and backed up Henrik Lundqvist when the New York Rangers realized the ”King” needed more time off, figures 60 is the perfect number for a starter. For someone like Vasilevskiy who can’t afford to learn and wait for next year, Boucher said he hopes a more relaxed market like Tampa Bay helps now and the rush of the playoffs gets him through the grind in a few weeks.”I think Vasilevskiy’s going to be fine just because you watch his physical attributes, they’re through the roof,” Boucher said. ”So the physical side doesn’t look like it’s an issue. Now it’s his time to shine.”—

for refusing to wear a silver medal around your neck Authentic Robert Woods Jersey , the International Ice Hockey Federation ruled Wednesday. The IIHF issued multi-game suspensions for five players and three coaches of Sweden’s national team for pocketing or tossing their silver medals into the stands during the closing ceremony of the world junior championships in January. The actions occurred immediately following Sweden’s 3-1 loss to Canada in the gold-medal game at the 10-nation tournament held in Buffalo, New York.”The players have, by their actions, shown a lack of self-control,” the IIHF said. ”Taking off the silver medals presented to the players shows not only the disrespect against the spectators and the organizers of the championship, but also the disrespect against their opponents and winners of the championship.”The Swedes violated an IIHF rule requiring players and team officials to wear medals around their necks during the closing ceremony and postgame media availabilities.Captain Lias Andersson faced the most severe discipline in being issued a four-game ban from next year’s world juniors.
