While lag was clearly the Fortnite items largest problem, so much so that it really killed the event, there's a whole lot of additional work to be carried out. The commentary team was not great and the action was unbelievably dull to the point where the streams of the best players such as Tfue and Myth proved almost unwatchable.


There is a large difference seeing Fortnite pros stomp normal players within their everyday streams, but the nature of Fortnite calls for way, far more cautious play during high-skill, high-stakes tournaments. Even during Ninja and Marshmello's huge win in the Pro-Am, they were hiding in a central tower for 90% of the game, with activity only coming at the end. It is a problem that Fortnite is going to have to Fortnite materials for sale determine how to tackle if it needs to become a constantly entertaining esport.


I am not quite clear on what happens next, provided that in just four games, no teams gained double, so that I don't know whether this will probably be resumed later or what's going to occur. I doubt Epic knows at this point, as pulling the tournament was obviously a last second choice. Supposedly there's another Skirmish second weekend at the exact same moment.

This occasion, if it is going to last, needs a lot more work. It requires more than just money and superstars (even though Ninja and Dr. Lupo were not absent since they had been in GuardianCon, it would not have saved this event in the least), it needs better production, a better format and obviously, better servers. This is a nightmare, and hopefully we will not see it replicated later on.
